Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations (UN), on July 16 (US East Coast time) attended the opening session of the TexWorld Textile and Fashion Fair held at the Jacob Javits Center, New York (USA), and met with the Vietnamese business delegation participating in the Fair.
A VNA reporter in New York quoted Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung - Director of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Center in New York - in the opening session, assessing TexWorld as one of the world's leading textile and garment exhibitions, gathering and connecting hundreds of suppliers, designers and customers in the global textile and garment supply chain.
To take advantage of the opportunity to introduce and promote products at this year's Fair, with the support of the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC), 39 Vietnamese textile and garment enterprises participated in displaying goods at the large "Ho Chi Minh Pavillion" space.
Visiting each Vietnamese booth at the Fair, Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang listened to Ms. Le Nguyen Trang Nha - Representative of the Vietnamese Business Delegation - introduce Vietnamese textile products with diverse and creative designs and types, including many products made from green, environmentally friendly materials such as coffee fiber, lotus fiber, etc.
Representatives of businesses present at TexWorld all expressed their joy and hope that this fair will be an opportunity to promote the brand and quality of Vietnamese products.
Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang congratulated and appreciated the impressive presence of Vietnamese textile products in New York City - one of the world's leading fashion centers.
The Ambassador emphasized that textiles and garments are Vietnam's main export products; Vietnamese enterprises have great potential and opportunities to expand their market share in the US, so they need to increase their access to and meet potential customers, learn about and promptly grasp new consumer and fashion trends, and at the same time, focus on innovation and creativity, making efforts to meet the increasingly high standards of demanding markets like the US.
Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang suggested that Vietnamese associations and enterprises continue to closely coordinate with Vietnamese representative agencies in the US, including the Permanent Mission and Vietnamese agencies in New York, to bring Vietnamese products closer to the local market, thereby contributing to creating new development momentum for the Vietnamese textile and garment industry and strengthening trade relations between the two countries./.
