Although it has only been in operation for a short time, Duc Phat International Transport Company Limited (operating on Thanh Hoa - Hanoi and Thanh Hoa - Da Nang routes) has had a relatively stable number of customers. With highly appreciated service quality, on the occasion of the recent New Year, the company served about 1,000 passengers per day. Continuing that success, from the beginning of January 2024, the company has planned to be ready to serve the travel needs of the people during the Lunar New Year. Specifically, the company has requested all employees to be on duty 24/7 to support customers in booking bus tickets as quickly as possible. For passengers who need to book tickets early, in addition to the usual booking method via phone, Facebook, Zalo... passengers can also go to the bus company's own website and app to check the departure date and time. At the same time, the company also requires all drivers to focus 100% of their efforts to serve the people, especially to uphold the sense of responsibility, not to use alcohol or stimulants while driving, ensuring safety for customers and other traffic participants.

Ms. Le Thi Tuyet, manager at Duc Phat International Transport Company Limited, said: Normally, the closer to Tet, the more people return to their hometowns. At this time, the number of customers booking tickets is almost 100% full. However, the bus ticket prices remain unchanged, still keeping the listed price of 250,000 VND for the Thanh Hoa - Hanoi trip and 400,000 VND for the Thanh Hoa - Da Nang trip. In addition to 18 fixed trips from Thanh Hoa - Hanoi and 4 trips from Thanh Hoa - Da Nang every day, the company also cooperates with the Thanh Hoa Association in Da Nang to sponsor 2 more 0 VND trips to take people back to their hometowns for Tet.

Similarly, on the occasion of Lunar New Year this year, based on the forecast of relatively large travel demand of the people, Hao Huong (Trieu Son) bus company has also developed a detailed passenger transport plan for each route, mobilizing all available vehicles to serve. It is expected to arrange 6 more backup vehicles in case of a sudden increase in passenger numbers. In addition, the bus company also invested funds to inspect, care for, maintain and repair all vehicles, to ensure quality and technical safety when in circulation. To optimally meet the travel needs of the people, the bus company maintains fixed bus routes until the 30th of Tet to help passengers return home to celebrate Tet with their families, from the 4th day the bus company will operate normally again.

At the Northern Bus Station (Thanh Hoa City), the number of passengers entering and leaving the station during the days before Tet has increased sharply, estimated to increase by 50% compared to the same period last year. In order to allocate each bus route appropriately, the bus station management board will coordinate with transport companies to increase the number of buses to relieve the number of passengers, and coordinate with security forces in the area to ensure order and safety for passengers.

According to the assessment of the Director of Thanh Hoa Bus Station Management and Operation Joint Stock Company, Le Dinh Lich, from January 31, 2024 to February 9, 2024 will be the peak period because this is the time when workers and students start returning to their hometowns for Tet. It is expected that the number of passengers passing through the bus stations during this time will increase by about 200% compared to normal days. Accordingly, each bus station will arrange 2-3 spare vehicles to promptly run extra buses if necessary. In addition, the company also requires bus stations and representative offices to clean, arrange enough seats for customers, and rearrange the order of shops in the bus station area. At the same time, increase inspections at bus stations to ensure the safety conditions of vehicles before departure; strictly follow the procedures to ensure traffic safety and handle vehicles entering and leaving the bus station according to regulations.

Currently, Thanh Hoa province has 69 bus companies and fixed-route passenger transport businesses with nearly 700 vehicles. To best serve the travel needs of passengers during Tet, the Department of Transport has requested transport businesses to proactively maintain and repair their vehicles to ensure safety when participating in traffic as well as during the entire journey. At the same time, thoroughly educate drivers and service staff on vehicles to comply with the Road Traffic Law and regulations on transport business; enhance the sense of responsibility in serving passengers before, during and after Tet. Require drivers of bus companies to follow the correct route and speed according to regulations, not to carry more people than allowed, not to stop to pick up and drop off passengers in the wrong location, to avoid the occurrence of illegal buses, illegal bus stations and illegal fare increases.
