The socio-economic development cooperation program between Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Coast provinces is helping many businesses cooperate in building supply chains, consuming products...

Enhanced connectivity

In Quy Nhon City, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the People's Committees of 6 provinces in the Central Coast region held a conference to review 1 year of implementing the Agreement on socio-economic development cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and the provinces in the Central Coast region.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, said that the recent cooperation and development process also showed the shortcomings and bottlenecks that bind the potential and affect the development process of the region, requiring the support of the economic locomotives of the whole country, including Ho Chi Minh City .

Besides the bottlenecks such as the overlap of key economic sectors in economic zones and industrial parks of localities, which leads to the dispersion of investment resources; the potential of the marine economy has not been exploited properly and effectively... The Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province said that enterprises are mainly small and medium-sized enterprises, and although the competitiveness at the provincial level has improved, it is still not high.

“Most of the new businesses are only participating in some stages of the global production network and value chain, and do not yet have many key products with national and international brands,” said Mr. Tuan.

Therefore, in the 5 years of the proposal to support the Central Coast Region to improve the quality and effectiveness of cooperation and linkage, the Chairman of Binh Dinh Province requested the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to pay attention to introducing large enterprises of the City to participate in investment in the provinces of the Central Coast, creating a driving force for the government to accompany enterprises in bilateral and multilateral cooperation with the provinces.

At the same time, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee creates a favorable environment for startups from the Central Coast region to participate in startup support programs in the City.

Dr. Tran Du Lich proposed many solutions to connect Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Coast region in the coming time.
Dr. Tran Du Lich proposed many solutions to connect Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Coast region in the coming time.

Meanwhile, Dr. Tran Du Lich, member of the National Financial and Monetary Policy Advisory Council, said that if in the past, the biggest challenge of the Central region was traffic infrastructure connectivity, the biggest challenge now is digital infrastructure and green transformation.

“Digital transformation, green industrial zones, green cities are big challenges, I think they are no less difficult than the challenge of traffic congestion, sometimes even more difficult,” Dr. Tran Du Lich emphasized.

Therefore, Dr. Tran Du Lich suggested that during the transition process, Ho Chi Minh City should share experiences and connect provinces, one place at a time, one industrial park at a time, one locality at a time to work together to solve this bottleneck.

To effectively connect Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Coast provinces, Dr. Tran Du Lich said that first, the localities must work together to connect the coastal roads.

“This is a highlight for localities to develop together and exploit coastal potential,” Dr. Tran Du Lich suggested.

Next, Dr. Tran Du Lich said that it is necessary to shift provincial tourism to regional tourism. At the same time, through cooperation, large tourism companies and travel businesses in Ho Chi Minh City must be associated with each province and region to organize and form in a systematic manner.

Regarding investment and trade promotion in the coming time, Dr. Tran Du Lich suggested that the provinces should promote international investment. Accordingly, in 6 provinces, each province should only offer 10 projects, but each project must have clear policies and specific commitments to investors. Ho Chi Minh City is the focal point connecting international organizations to hold a common conference for the provinces.

"Investment connection organization is not one point but a chain, a system of enterprises," said Dr. Tran Du Lich.

Businesses benefit from cooperation

Sharing at the preliminary conference, representatives of enterprises from Ho Chi Minh City , Khanh Hoa and Binh Dinh provinces all recognized that their enterprises have "benefited" a lot from the Socio-Economic Development Cooperation Program between Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Coast provinces.

According to Mr. Tran Thanh Danh, Sales Director of the Central region, Bach Hoa Xanh Trading Joint Stock Company, in addition to the Southern region, the company is currently present in Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, and Khanh Hoa provinces.

With the upcoming plan, Bach Hoa Xanh plans to open more stores in Phu Yen, Binh Dinh, and Quang Ngai provinces to serve the increasing shopping needs of the people.

Mr. Danh said that opening more stores helps boost the consumption of local agricultural products. For example, in Ninh Thuan, the company purchases more than 300 tons of grapes and apples each month, so if more stores are opened, the products will reach more consumers and be known to more people.

“If we are allowed to open more stores, the company commits to regional cooperation, bringing local agricultural products and outstanding products of each province to major markets,” said Mr. Danh.

Mr. Nguyen Huu Vinh, Director of IPP Sachi Joint Stock Company (a business in Binh Dinh) said that the results the business achieved today were thanks to the support of Binh Dinh province, the Central Coast provinces and especially Ho Chi Minh City .

“With the support of Ho Chi Minh City , the company has gradually brought its products into Winmart, Coopmart, and some supermarket systems,” Mr. Vinh shared.

Regarding the economic development cooperation between Ho Chi Minh City and the Central Coast provinces in recent times, the Director of IPP Sachi Joint Stock Company affirmed that, as a local enterprise, it has directly benefited from investment connection policies as well as market connection, infrastructure support, and agreements that bring about smoother transportation compared to goods distribution.

Mr. Vinh said that at the conference, Sachi Company had a meeting to connect with Bach Hoa Xanh Company to bring Binh Dinh products into Bach Hoa Xanh's chain of stores.

With experience and success in connecting businesses between localities in recent times, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Du, National Sales Director of DTFOOD Joint Stock Company (DTGROUP) proposed to promote connections between the provinces of the Central Coast and Ho Chi Minh City .

Including, connecting raw material sources (DTFOOD Company has connected raw material sources of bird's nest and seaweed with Ninh Thuan and Phu Yen provinces); connecting to support output; connecting to improve product quality; connecting farming, production and circular tourism to create tours; connecting supply chains...

“Leaders and units of Ho Chi Minh City should create more favorable conditions for businesses to participate more closely, more actively, and more actively in the connection chain so that many businesses in Khanh Hoa province can enter the distribution channels of the Central provinces and Ho Chi Minh City ,” Mr. Du proposed.

Within the framework of the preliminary conference, Central Retail Vietnam Group had a working session and met with leaders of the People's Committee and departments of Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen provinces to discuss and propose investing in 1 commercial center and at least 2 supermarkets in each province.
Bach Hoa Xanh Trading Joint Stock Company also met and worked with the Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Planning and Investment of Binh Dinh, Quang Ngai, Phu Yen provinces on the proposal to invest in 20 Bach Hoa Xanh stores in each province and coordinate to build a sustainable supply chain locally.
