The National Forum “Culture with Enterprises” is a place to honor pioneers in building and developing corporate culture. This year, among the 20 outstanding enterprises honored, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) stands out with 4 units meeting Vietnamese business culture standards. Of which, the PetroVietnam Transportation Joint Stock Corporation (PVTrans) has 2 member units honored, namely Phuong Dong Viet Transportation and Logistics Joint Stock Company (PVT Logistics) and Gas Shipping Joint Stock Company.

This is a worthy recognition for the continuous efforts of PVTrans and its member units, affirming the brand position of a leading shipping enterprise in Vietnam, thereby affirming Petrovietnam's pioneering role in the process of regenerating corporate culture.

Since its inception, PVTrans has set clear goals in building a sustainable corporate culture. With the wise leadership of its leaders, innovation in management thinking and clear development orientation, PVTrans has constantly strived to become one of the leading enterprises in the Vietnamese shipping industry.

Currently, PVTrans owns the largest fleet in Vietnam with 58 ships, total tonnage of over 1.7 million DWT, most of which operate on international shipping routes. In the period of 2024-2025, PVTrans will expand its scale to 82 ships, equivalent to a total capacity of 2.5 million DWT. PVTrans's fleet currently not only ensures domestic transportation needs but is also ready to serve international partners. Service quality, professional staff, and commitment to bringing maximum satisfaction to customers, have created a prestigious PVTrans brand.

PVT Logistics and Gas Shipping have also made great strides in developing their fleet, building their brand and affirming their position. PVT Logistics currently owns a fleet of 9 ships, with a total tonnage of 307,759 DWT, including chemical, petroleum and bulk carriers, currently providing services to large, demanding customers such as Chevron, Exxon, Petronas, Trafigura, Glencore, Shell and markets with high transportation requirements such as the US and Europe. In the past 5 years, the expansion of the fleet has helped PVT Logistics increase its transport capacity by nearly 4 times, and the company's business results have recorded outstanding growth with a compound annual growth rate of about 65% in the period 2018-2023.

Meanwhile, Gas Shipping is one of the prestigious LPG and oil/chemical product transportation units in the region and internationally. With 17 years of experience in the LPG sector, Gas Shipping's fleet has always met the requirements of major Oil Majors such as Shell, Exxon Mobil, Petronas, Chervon, PV GAS, Nghi Son Refinery, Binh Son Refinery... In the past 5 years, the company has also increased its transportation capacity by 4 times, thereby, the business results in the period of 2018-2023 achieved a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14%.

One of the factors that helps PVTrans and its member units achieve success is the core cultural values ​​that they build and pursue. Building a culture closely linked to operational practices so that corporate culture always accompanies the life of the enterprise is one of the conclusions of PVTrans and is also a lesson applied in its member units. Based on the Petrovietnam culture with the values ​​of "Aspiration - Intelligence - Professionalism - Compassion" and the motto of action "Solidarity - Discipline - Creativity - Efficiency", PVTrans, PVT Logistics or Gas Shipping all determined that it is necessary to absorb and inherit, but also flexibly apply and supplement many factors suitable to the characteristics of the enterprise's operations to build and develop a culture with its own identity.

Mr. Pham Viet Anh, Chairman of PVTrans Board of Directors affirmed: “The PVTrans corporate culture values ​​are created from the urgent requirements of production and business activities at each stage, specific conditions and historical significance. It is a management tool, unlocking resources, accompanying businesses through difficulties, as well as steps of growth and development”. That is also the way of doing culture that is widely communicated and implemented to PVTrans units.

Motivation and belief for stable and sustainable development

Corporate culture is not something that can be built overnight. More than a decade ago, Petrovietnam really paid attention to building a culture for oil and gas workers. This is a long process of synthesizing, learning from experiences, consulting with international consultants... to find and build a unique cultural standard, a system of core values ​​suitable from the Group to each unit.

With the attention to building corporate culture, in the first recognition in 2021, based on the criteria set by the Vietnam Cultural Development Association under the direction of the Prime Minister, Petrovietnam was honored as one of the 10 "Enterprises meeting Vietnamese business culture standards". Since then, Petrovietnam has had 16 units including the Group, 9 member units and 6 level 3 units (subsidiary companies) honored to receive this title.

Through cultural regeneration and promoting governance in production and business operations, Petrovietnam has achieved successful results, completing and excellently completing the targets and tasks assigned by the Party and the State. Overcoming the crisis period, Petrovietnam's brand value in 2024 is approximately 1.4 billion USD, 3 times higher than in 2019 - the year of cultural regeneration. That shows that Petrovietnam is appreciated by society and recognized by the Party and the State; thereby, trust is strengthened.

With the motto "Managing changes, Adding new motivation, Renewing old motivation, Creating new energy, Reaching new heights", Petrovietnam has thoroughly implemented to all units in the whole Group focusing on many groups of solutions, promoting cultural motivation in the direction of inheriting the development momentum of the past years. With the spirit of "One team - One goal", recreating culture and enhancing culture of growth, solidarity, compliance with the law, combination, mutual support between units... are the motivation and belief for Petrovietnam to continue to develop stably, sustainably and reach far.
