State-owned enterprises take the lead in digital transformation

On the morning of April 15, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the Prime Minister's Conference working with state-owned enterprises (SOEs) pioneering in digital transformation and promoting growth.

In his opening speech, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that Vietnam is a developing country with a modest-scale, open economy and limited resilience to external shocks. Therefore, in the face of difficulties and challenges, we must remain calm, not panic or fear, but also not be subjective or negligent; and promote self-reliance and self-reliance.

According to the Prime Minister, our country is vigorously implementing the "strategic quartet" including: breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation; streamlining the political system and local administrative units; developing the private economic sector; international integration in the new situation. Along with that, implementing 3 strategic breakthroughs in building and perfecting institutions; developing strategic infrastructure; and training high-quality human resources.

At the conference, which is considered as the "Dien Hong Conference" in the context of global trade facing new difficulties and challenges, leaders of ministries, sectors and enterprises proposed many breakthrough solutions to promote the role of state-owned enterprises as pioneers in digital transformation and promote double-digit growth. Specifically, creating breakthroughs, strongly promoting new growth drivers; supporting and encouraging enterprises to innovate technology, invest in emerging industries such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, high-tech agriculture, logistics, etc.

Concluding the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that enterprises must be pioneers in digital transformation, participating in building a digital government, digital society, and digital citizens. In particular, state-owned enterprises must grow at a high and sustainable rate to contribute to the country's high, fast, and sustainable growth...

The head of the Government requires enterprises to complete processes, regulations, and standardize digital transformation; develop digital infrastructure of enterprises; build a team of digital staff and workers, contributing to building digital citizens; actively and proactively innovate and promote growth drivers. Ministries and branches review and remove obstacles related to institutions; immediately eliminate the mindset of "not knowing but still managing, if you can't manage, then ban"; review and eliminate all cumbersome and unnecessary administrative procedures...

Affirming that the Government always accompanies, creates the best conditions and is ready to resolve proposals, recommendations, and remove difficulties for enterprises, the Prime Minister hopes and believes that state-owned enterprises will take the lead in digital transformation and grow rapidly and sustainably.
