Domestic tourists choose to take the speedboat to Phu Quoc Island

On April 18, Tuoi Tre Online reported that at Rach Gia City wharf, Kien Giang province, domestic and foreign tourists were bustling to take high-speed boats from the mainland to Phu Quoc, Hon Son, and Nam Du islands (Kien Hai district).

Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong (a tourist in Ho Chi Minh City) said that on the upcoming big holidays of April 30 and May 1, she and her family chose Phu Quoc Island to travel. However, instead of choosing to take a plane, Ms. Phuong decided to take a car to Rach Gia City to take a boat to Phu Quoc Island.

"From Ho Chi Minh City to Kien Giang, I find the roads quite convenient now. This April 30th holiday, my family chose to go out early. To go to Phu Quoc, I chose to take a speedboat to see the beautiful and majestic scenery of the Southwest islands," Ms. Phuong happily said.

Information from Express Phu Quoc Express Ferry Company said that the unit is currently operating the express route from Ha Tien City - Phu Quoc City, Rach Gia City - Phu Quoc City and vice versa with about 20 trips/day.

"On the occasion of April 30 and May 1 this year, domestic tourists to Phu Quoc were more prominent than every year.

"If the holidays are near and the number of visitors is even higher, the company plans to deploy all high-speed boats and increase the number of trips to serve visitors to the island for fun," said Nguyen Tien Luong, captain of the Express Phu Quoc 8 high-speed boat.

Tourism festival in Phu Quoc makes visitors fall in love

The Kien Giang Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center said the locality is calling on tourism businesses in Phu Quoc to implement incentive and discount programs, create diverse and attractive product packages, combos and stimulus programs to attract domestic and foreign tourists to Phu Quoc to play on the occasion of April 30 and May 1 and upcoming holidays and Tet.

Kien Giang is currently organizing the Phu Quoc Tourism and Cuisine Festival 2025 from April 29 to May 1. The event has many activities and spaces to introduce and promote culture, tourism, cuisine, Phu Quoc fish sauce craft village, Kien Giang OCOP products, etc.

"The cultural, tourism and culinary festival in Phu Quoc is a prominent event with many attractive activities serving tourists coming to the island during the April 30 and May 1 holidays.

Through that, tourists will understand more about the cultural beauty of the people on Phu Quoc Island," said Ms. Quang Xuan Lua - Director of Kien Giang Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion Center.

Kien Giang Department of Tourism said that in the first quarter of 2025, Kien Giang is expected to welcome more than 3 million visitors, including more than 479,000 international visitors, with total tourism revenue of more than 13,000 billion VND. Of which, Phu Quoc City is expected to welcome more than 2 million visitors, including more than 474,000 international visitors, with total tourism revenue of more than 10,600 billion VND.
