More and more “factories without lights”

Although operating at maximum capacity (about 600 tons/day), each shift at the factory of Phu My Super White Float Glass Company Limited (Viglacera Corporation - JSC) only has a few dozen workers. Most of the production stages at the factory, from raw material processing to loading and unloading finished products, are carried out by automatic machinery systems.

Mr. Nguyen Giang Nam, Deputy General Director of Phu My Super White Float Glass Company Limited, said that right from the beginning of the project, the company has chosen the most modern machinery system for the production of super white float glass. All technology and production robots are from Europe, highly automated, reducing the workload for workers and ensuring product quality. Currently, the company's super white float glass is of high quality, with a light transmittance of up to 91.6%; the factory's high-grade construction glass meets domestic and export demand.

“Thanks to that, the Company’s factory is the first place to produce super-white glass in Vietnam, with quality equivalent to imported products from China and India but at a much cheaper price. The application of high automation also helps us move towards building a green production process,” said Mr. Nam.

At the factory of Hoa Phat Container Manufacturing Joint Stock Company, the most advanced Plant layout (the process of organizing, arranging, and formatting the space of machinery and equipment, working areas, and production service departments) is also applied.

Mr. Vu Duc Sinh, Director of Hoa Phat Container Manufacturing Joint Stock Company, said that the company has the advantage of building a factory when the industry of manufacturing this product has been developed for more than 30 years. Therefore, the equipment and production and product acceptance processes take advantage of the most modern technological achievements in the world today, strictly controlled by a system with a high level of automation.

Mr. Sinh said: “Thanks to that, the current assembly process of a container at the factory is only 140 seconds. All products are coded for management. With the advantage and long-term experience in the field of steel production, Hoa Phat containers are providing the market with products that meet international standards, meeting the needs of the maritime transport industry.”

Support Ba Ria-Vung Tau enterprises to apply technology

In recent times, with the orientation of selectively attracting investment and giving incentives to projects with high technology content, many large international corporations and enterprises have chosen Ba Ria-Vung Tau as their destination. More and more large domestic corporations such as Hoa Sen, Hoa Phat, etc. are building factories using highly automated production processes, producing products that meet world-leading standards.

In particular, many investment projects in the province have commitments to technology transfer, on-site human resource training, joint ventures, and production partnerships with enterprises in Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

However, the resources to build green, modern factories in the province are mainly FDI enterprises or large domestic corporations. Therefore, according to the Department of Science and Technology, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province is promoting policies to support the innovative startup ecosystem, helping local businesses improve productivity and quality of products and goods, focusing on the application of information technology and automation in production.

The province also coordinates with scientific organizations and relevant organizations to implement scientific research topics related to the practical needs of industries, especially key areas and development priorities of the province.
