German enterprise wishes to invest in a 1.5 billion Euro steel factory in Ha Tinh

Chairman of Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai recently visited and worked with VFT Industry UG Company (Federal Republic of Germany) on the construction of a stainless steel factory in Vung Ang Economic Zone.

Continuing the working program in Germany, late on September 28 (Vietnam time), the high-level delegation of Ha Tinh province led by Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai had a working session with Ms. Antonia Zahn - Weber, CEO of VFT Industry UG Company on the construction of a stainless steel factory in Vung Ang Economic Zone.

Also attending the meeting were Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Tran Tu Anh, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee Ha Van Trong, Colonel Nguyen Hong Phong - Director of the Provincial Police Department and leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and Ha Tinh enterprises.

VFT Industry UG is an enterprise with the advantage of using carbon (CO2) reduction technology to minimize negative impacts on the environment, aiming at the sustainable development goals set by the United Nations.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Antonia Zahn - Weber said that the company is currently cooperating with Southeast Asian countries such as the Philippines, Indonesia... In the past time, the unit has also researched to invest in Vietnam and realized many conditions and advantages of Ha Tinh. In particular, Ha Tinh is increasingly attracting the interest and investment of many large corporations and projects in the world .

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai informed businesses about Ha Tinh's existing advantages such as: convenient transportation, abundant human resources... Ha Tinh has a 137 km long coastline, of which Vung Ang - Son Duong is one of the largest deep-water ports in Vietnam, capable of receiving ships of over 300,000 tons.

In particular, the province's investment and business environment has been increasingly improved with the motto: "Government accompanies enterprises". Thanks to that, in recent times, there have been many large-scale foreign investment projects in Ha Tinh. Most recently, Ha Tinh has just successfully called for the project to build an industrial - urban - service park of VSIP Group (Singapore), the project was granted an investment certificate when the Singaporean Prime Minister visited Vietnam.

At the conference announcing the province's Planning and Investment Promotion last May, Ha Tinh was delighted to welcome Ms. Antonia Zahn-Weber and receive a proposal to build a stainless steel factory in Ha Tinh. It is known that the project proposed by the unit uses modern technology, operates completely automatically according to a circular mechanism, has great added value, is environmentally friendly, and is in line with Ha Tinh's sustainable industrial development orientations.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Trong Hai hopes that VFT Industry UG will soon work with provincial leaders to directly survey locations where projects can be invested.

In the spirit of companionship, connection, cooperation, and harmonization of interests for sustainable development, after discussion, the two sides agreed to create conditions for VFT Industry UG to implement procedures and accelerate the investment progress of a stainless steel factory in Vung Ang Economic Zone with a total expected area of ​​250 hectares, a total expected investment of 1.5 billion Euros, and an estimated steel production capacity of 1.1 million tons/year.
