DNVN - According to the Annual Report "Enterprise Digital Transformation 2023: Promoting digital transformation, green transformation" published by the Ministry of Planning and Investment on the morning of April 9, although businesses have sufficient awareness and knowledge about digital transformation, it is difficult for them to carry out this comprehensive change process on their own.

The annual report “Business Digital Transformation 2023: Promoting digital transformation, green transformation” is an annual publication within the framework of the Program to support businesses in digital transformation for the period 2021-2025 implemented by the Department of Enterprise Development, Ministry of Planning and Investment. With the support of the German Government through the German International Cooperation Agency GIZ, the report focuses on “dual transformation” – digital transformation in parallel with green transformation; providing the concept and trends of dual transformation taking place globally.

In addition, the report also continues to publish annual data on the level of digital transformation readiness of businesses and the efforts of the Government and international organizations to promote digital transformation and green transformation in Vietnam in the past year.

Notably, the report stated that “dual transformation” is becoming increasingly important with initiatives revolving around three main pillars: increasing productivity and economic efficiency in a sustainable manner; enhancing resilience and adaptation to climate change; and minimizing or eliminating greenhouse gas emissions.

The annual report “Enterprise Digital Transformation 2023: Promoting digital transformation and green transformation” was announced by the Ministry of Planning and Investment on the morning of April 9.

In Vietnam, digital technology and digital transformation are also expected to be the driving force for the success of the green economic model transformation, realizing strategic goals on green growth. The National Strategy on Green Growth for the period 2021-2030, vision 2050 and the National Action Plan on Green Growth for the period 2021-2030 have set out these green growth goals.

That is to reduce the intensity of greenhouse gas emissions per GDP; transform the growth model towards greening economic sectors. Apply the circular economic model through the exploitation and economical and efficient use of natural resources and energy based on science and technology, digital technology application and digital transformation. At the same time, greening lifestyles and promoting sustainable consumption.

The report analyzed the level of digital transformation readiness of businesses (mainly small and medium enterprises) in 2023. This level of readiness is at its highest, reflected in the fact that businesses are actively and proactively learning, updating, and approaching technology trends, solutions, and initiatives to apply to production and business activities.

However, the limitation in standardizing the system of processes, operating policies as well as investment resources of small and medium enterprises makes the supply chain, information technology system and data management aspects of enterprises at a low threshold.

The results of the assessment of the level of readiness for digital transformation of enterprises also recorded that enterprises operating in all fields have been and are deeply aware of the importance of digital transformation. They proactively integrate digital transformation goals into their development strategies as well as increase the necessary resources.

This is a positive sign that businesses in all industries are ready for this groundbreaking and comprehensive digital transformation step.

The report clearly shows that although businesses have sufficient awareness and knowledge about digital transformation, it is difficult for them to carry out this comprehensive change process on their own. Therefore, having policies, support programs, consulting on the digital transformation roadmap, and support for applying appropriate digital transformation solutions is really necessary for businesses to make a breakthrough in the next stage.

At the report announcement, Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Director of the Department of Enterprise Development, Ministry of Planning and Investment highly appreciated the practical value of the report.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung affirmed that the report will help businesses make the right decisions in the process of digital transformation and green transformation.

“The 2023 Annual Report on Digital Transformation of Enterprises will provide useful information and lessons learned on digital transformation and green transformation. Helping the business community make the right decisions in the process of digital transformation and green transformation.

At the same time, it provides new perspectives for ministries, branches and localities to approach in the process of supporting businesses in digital transformation," said Mr. Trung.

Currently, the Annual Report "Business Digital Transformation 2023: Promoting digital transformation, green transformation" has been posted on the Portal https://digital.business.gov.vn.
