Proactively save energy

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tao, Head of Energy Department of Kumho Tire Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Ben Cat City), said that as a large energy-consuming enterprise, the company is very interested in saving electricity and using energy efficiently. Therefore, the company's machinery lines have all been replaced, using energy-saving technology; the entire lighting system at the factory uses LED lights to help save electricity. "Every year, thanks to good management, using energy sources from production technology, lighting to operating production during off-peak hours, it is estimated that the company saves about 10% of electricity consumption. This means reducing costs in the production process, contributing to making products more competitive in the market and having suitable prices for consumers," Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tao shared.

According to the leader of Kumho Tire Vietnam Co., Ltd., in 2025, the company will continue to invest in expanding phase 3, increasing the company's total investment capital to 908 million USD, increasing the factory's capacity from 12.5 million tires to 17 million tires/year. In the past, the company highly appreciated the continuous and safe power supply of the electricity industry, contributing to the stable production activities of the factory. In the future, the company will invest in more rooftop solar power, with the desire to bring a part of clean energy and renewable energy into production and business activities in Vietnam.

Mr. Tran Thanh Tam, Energy Manager at TCL Vietnam Smart Electronics Co., Ltd. (Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park II-A), said that in order to produce efficiently and reduce operating costs, the company has recently focused on investing in new technology production lines to save energy. The entire factory and office area of ​​the company are equipped with energy-saving LED lights and a sensor system that turns on when there are people and turns off automatically when there are no people. The company's office machinery and equipment are all energy-saving. This has helped the company save about 5% of the electricity consumed at the factory and office operations each year.

Reduce costs, increase competition

According to Mr. Bui Van Vuong, Electrical Engineering Director of Asia Packaging Company Limited (My Phuoc II Industrial Park, Ben Cat City), the market is currently experiencing major fluctuations in raw material and fuel prices for production. In such conditions, measures to reduce production costs, contribute to reducing product prices, and help products become competitive in the market are of particular interest to businesses. Saving electricity and using energy efficiently are also solutions for businesses to reduce production costs, reduce product prices, and create competitive advantages in the market.

Mr. Bui Van Vuong said that Asia Packaging continuously updates and innovates technology, bringing automation, closed production, energy saving, and efficient energy use into production and business activities. Currently, the entire lighting system and production line equipment at the factory use energy-saving technology (Inverter). Along with that, managing electricity usage and production during off-peak hours has helped the company significantly reduce production costs, helping to provide products to partners at reasonable prices. “Previously, the company spent an average of 50kWh to produce 1,000 products. With improvements and changes in equipment and energy-saving technology, the company now only consumes 13.5kWh for every 1,000 products it produces. Our factory has proactively eliminated all outdated, energy-consuming equipment. Along with applying off-peak production hours, the company has saved a lot of money on electricity consumption,” Mr. Bui Van Vuong shared a solution for businesses to save production costs.

Assessing the effectiveness of technological innovation, electricity saving and efficient energy use in enterprises, Mr. Nguyen Truong Thi, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said that the sense of responsibility of people and enterprises has clearly changed, gradually improving the responsibility of enterprises in managing and strictly controlling energy consumption activities in production, business, distribution and use stages.

Currently, enterprises focus more on production and business situation, research and implementation of legal regulations on economical and efficient use of energy. However, there are still some enterprises that do not pay due attention to the above benefits. This is reflected in the incomplete energy management system at key energy-using facilities, which has not enhanced the role of economical and efficient use of energy in production and business.

The benefits of applying renewable energy sources are widely disseminated to people, administrative units and industrial production enterprises, contributing to reducing over-reliance on primary energy sources and minimizing environmental pollution. To increase product competitiveness, most enterprises have proactively changed technology and modernized production lines to help save electricity. Enterprises also bring about energy efficiency through appropriate production plans, production during off-peak hours to help reduce production costs and lower product prices.
