Da Nang mechanical enterprises aim for green, modern and transparent development

On the afternoon of September 30, in Da Nang City, the City Mechanical Association (under the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Da Nang City) organized a workshop on "Promoting research and development activities for standardized production (green, modern, transparent) to increase opportunities for integration and development".

The workshop aims to enhance the knowledge, role and responsibility of enterprises, production and business establishments, organizations and state management agencies in research, linkage, innovation in the application of science and technology and training of high-quality human resources, contributing to production, promoting the development of a standardized mechanical industry (green, modern, transparent) to strengthen international integration links, supporting the mechanical industry to proactively participate deeply in the value chain and world industrial production.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phuc - Vice President of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Da Nang City said: Da Nang's economic development strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2050, aims to become a major socio-economic center of the Central region, with three main pillars: High-tech industry, tourism, and marine economy. In this development strategy, the mechanical industry plays a very important role in creating high-tech industrial development and building modern urban infrastructure, supporting the development of other economic sectors.

In the current context, the Vietnamese mechanical industry in general and the Da Nang mechanical industry in particular are facing significant opportunities and challenges. The international and domestic markets require the production of products that meet strict standards, requirements related to greening in production activities, as well as environmental protection and sustainable development.

To survive and develop sustainably, Vietnamese mechanical engineering enterprises in general and Da Nang in particular need to pay attention to green standards and create standard products (green, modern, transparent) to meet customer needs.

“The workshop on developing standardized production (green, modern, transparent) contributes to supporting mechanical enterprises in Da Nang City as well as manufacturing enterprises to grasp and proactively plan for green transformation. In addition, assigning and linking to produce products that are competitive enough in the country and reaching out to the world,” said Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phuc.

At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing the main contents including: The role of mechanical associations in research and development activities for standardized production to increase opportunities for international integration; the role and position of Da Nang mechanical industry in the city's development strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2045; Da Nang's support policies on scientific and technological innovation for businesses to boldly invest in innovation in production and business activities; globalization of the production process, challenges of international competition and opportunities for integration with standardized products; training of human resources in science and technology to meet the needs of standardized mechanical production in universities; promoting digital transformation in production and business activities.

Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Duong - Representative of the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang City said that in recent times, the mechanical industry has made contributions to the city's socio-economic development. Many mechanical enterprises in the city have boldly invested in technology and innovated management processes to improve product quality and increase competitiveness.

In particular, supporting enterprises in technological innovation, the Department of Science and Technology has supported 15 mechanical enterprises in the city to innovate technology with a total budget of more than 4.84 billion VND.
