Bronze medals in shooting, rowing, taekwondo, wushu, swimming, kurash, boxing, sepak takraw, chess, karate and ju-jitsu.
Vietnam sports delegation achieved the set goal at ASIAD 19.
At this ASIAD, the sports delegation had high hopes for gold in sepak takraw, karate, shooting, boxing, and chess. However, only karate and shooting met expectations. Some Vietnamese athletes who reached continental level also caused regret when they did not win gold, such as Nguyen Thi That (cycling) or Nguyen Thi Tam (boxing).
With this achievement, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation completed its set goal of winning 2 to 5 gold medals. However, the position of the delegation is not a high achievement. At the ASIAD 5 years ago, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation ranked 16th with 4 gold medals, 16 silver medals and 18 bronze medals.
In Southeast Asia, Vietnamese sports rank behind Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore.
The Chinese delegation topped the medal tally with 201 gold medals, 111 silver medals and 71 bronze medals, setting a record for the number of medals in the history of the Asian Games. The Chinese delegation also left the Japanese delegation far behind in second place. The country had 52 gold medals, 67 silver medals and 69 bronze medals.
14 countries did not win any gold medals, of which 4 countries Cambodia, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria ranked last with only 1 bronze medal.
