Doan Quoc Dam responds
Doan Quoc Dam explained that the video was filmed two years ago, based on the scene where the character Thanh appears in the movie "Our Family Suddenly Becomes Happy" . He stated that he does not use personal images for advertising purposes to make money.
"According to the signed contract, the image usage period was only one month. However, the video continued to appear online after that time without my permission," he shared.
According to the actor, before accepting the advertisement, he was provided with all the necessary legal documents from the brand. Doan Quoc Dam stated that he lacked the authority to monitor any changes in ingredients or quality during the production and distribution process, and that he "couldn't go to their production line every day to constantly supervise them and ensure they were fulfilling their commitments."

"If the product hadn't been inspected and lacked proper legal documentation from the beginning, I would definitely have refused to participate. Because I understand that knowing something is wrong and still doing it means I'm ready to violate the law, and I wouldn't be so foolish as to do that," Doan Quoc Dam expressed.
The actor from the TV series "Our Family is Happy" suddenly stated in the promotional video that he was only introducing the product according to the agreed-upon script, without any shouting or urging people to buy or use the product. The actor wrote: "If there was such content in the script, I would have refused from the start."
Regarding the controversy surrounding celebrity advertising, as reported by Thanh Nien newspaper, the Food Safety Department has sent a letter to the Department of Broadcasting and Electronic Information and the Department of Grassroots Culture (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) requesting their cooperation in verifying information, handling illegal advertising practices on social media platforms, and taking action against celebrities involved in such violations.
