Quang Tri province's high-ranking delegation visits the Consulate General of Vietnam in Champasak and Savannakhet provinces

Within the framework of the working trip to Laos, this afternoon, March 20, a delegation of high-ranking leaders of Quang Tri province led by Party Central Committee member, Provincial Party Secretary, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Le Quang Tung visited the Consulate General of Vietnam, the Vietnamese community and businesses in Savannakhet province and Pakse city, Champasak province. Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Ho Dai Nam; Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department Le Thi Lan Huong; Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Dao Manh Hung; Director of the Provincial Police Department, Colonel Nguyen Duc Hai also attended.

At the places visited, representatives of the two Vietnamese Consulates General in Savannakhet and Pakse provided basic information on the socio-economic development of the localities they were in charge of as well as some activities carried out by the Consulates General in recent times to contribute to promoting the great friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

Vietnamese Consul General in Savannakhet Province Dang Thi Hai Tam said that Vietnam currently has 4 diplomatic representative agencies in Laos, including 1 Embassy in the capital Vientiane and 3 Consulates General in Northern, Central and Southern Laos. The Consulate General in Savannakhet is assigned to be in charge of the consular areas of 3 provinces: Bolykhamsai, Khammouane and Savannakhet.

Speaking at the places he visited, Provincial Party Secretary and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Le Quang Tung outlined the socio-economic development situation, orientations and plans for implementing key projects in the coming time of the province.

At the same time, acknowledge and appreciate the attention and support of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Savannakhet and Pakse in its role as a bridge to promote the friendly and cooperative relationship between Quang Tri province and the southern and central provinces of Laos.

Currently, Quang Tri province is promoting cooperation and foreign relations with localities in border areas of Laos to perfect mechanisms, programs and projects to facilitate trade of goods and people-to-people exchanges.

Therefore, the province hopes to continue to receive the companionship, attention and active support from the Consulates General in exchanging information, supporting and assisting the province in making proposals to the central government to remove obstacles in implementing cooperation commitments with Lao localities.

For the Vietnamese community and businesses in Savannakhet province, Provincial Party Secretary Le Quang Tung suggested that they strictly abide by local laws, actively preserve traditional culture and Vietnamese language, continue to unite and help each other in life and economic development. At the same time, he wished to pay attention to and accompany the economic plans and projects implemented by Quang Tri.
