(HTV) - As part of the activities of the overseas Vietnamese meeting program to celebrate the Spring of At Ty 2025, this morning, the Outstanding Overseas Vietnamese Delegation offered incense at the Ben Duoc Martyrs Memorial Temple in Cu Chi District and participated in local connection activities.
In a solemn atmosphere, the delegates respectfully observed a minute of silence, expressing their deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh, the heroic martyrs, the outstanding sons of the nation who did not spare their blood and bones, bravely fought and sacrificed themselves for the cause of national liberation, for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. Ben Duoc Martyrs Memorial Temple, where the names of 45,639 outstanding sons of the country who fell for the independence and freedom of the nation through two resistance wars against French colonialism and American imperialism are recorded, of which more than 9,300 martyrs are children of 40 other provinces and cities.

Next, the delegation visited the Cu Chi Tunnels Relic Site, a unique military art wonder of Vietnam, demonstrating the indomitable will of the people of the "steel land", one of the symbols of revolutionary heroism. The tunnel architecture has inherited and is valuable in many aspects, especially in terms of military art, people's war, with outstanding creations, developed to its peak during the resistance war against America, which the whole world must acknowledge.

Also this morning, the delegation visited Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, gave gifts to families with meritorious services in Cu Chi district to express gratitude, encourage and share with those in difficult situations with the wish that everyone has Tet, every family has Tet.

Ms. Vu Huynh Mai - Chairwoman of the Committee for Overseas Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh City said: “Over the past years, Cu Chi District has been affirming its role as a highlight in the socio-economic development of Ho Chi Minh City. With potential advantages such as resources, people and creativity, Cu Chi is an important hub in connecting other localities, attracting domestic and foreign investment”.
Cu Chi, with the title “Land of Steel and Bronze”, is not only a symbol of the steadfast and indomitable spirit in the resistance war, but also a living testament to the ability to rise from difficulties, adapt and develop in the renovation period. Today, the potentials of Cu Chi have been gradually exploited, from transport infrastructure, high-tech agriculture to eco-tourism and education development.
On this occasion, in the local connection program, the leaders of Cu Chi district and typical overseas Vietnamese discussed many issues on policies, development orientations and strengths of the locality. Not only an opportunity for exchange and connection, the program also opened up new prospects for cooperation and promoting the role of overseas Vietnamese in the socio-economic development of Cu Chi district. Today's entrepreneurs, experts, and representatives of overseas Vietnamese are not only financial, scientific and cultural strengths, but also carry the spirit of solidarity and contribution to sustainable development. In addition to specific values in the economic field, the program also promotes the spirit of solidarity and attachment of the Vietnamese community around the world, contributing to realizing the goal of building a prosperous, sustainable and comprehensively developed Vietnam in the future.
