Unite to help each other develop the economy and reduce poverty sustainably

3B cattle farming model of farmer Le Tien Toan's family

In recent years, the movement has been widely implemented by Farmers' Associations at all levels, attracting a large number of members to participate. Thereby, it has aroused the will, diligence and creativity in farmers' production labor, encouraged farmers to change the structure of crops and livestock, invest in intensive farming, increase crops, promote production and business linkages to increase income, improve living standards, and contribute to promoting socio-economic development.

Visiting the 3B cow farming model of farmer Le Tien Toan's family in zone 4, Lang Son commune, Ha Hoa district, many people were surprised by Mr. Toan's creative way of combining farmer experience and knowledge, modern science and technology in animal husbandry, bringing high economic efficiency.

By planning and building a suitable barn system, applying the right techniques for raising cattle, and combining the use of diverse foods, the herd of nearly 100 cows has grown healthily, generating an income of nearly 1 billion VND/year. Mr. Toan's model creates stable jobs for 10 seasonal and regular workers. Mr. Toan's family is one of the members of the Quyet Thang Lang Son Agricultural Cooperative, specializing in raising 3B cows on a household scale, bringing high economic efficiency to the locality.

Similar to Mr. Toan's family, Ms. Ha Thi Danh's family in Du hamlet, Xuan Dai commune, Tan Son district joined the association to raise multi-spur chickens - a specialty chicken breed of Tan Son district. Under technical guidance and support for breeding, Ms. Danh renovated her family's hilly area to grow trees and make a large garden to be able to raise multi-spur chickens. She said: Multi-spur chickens have a slow growth and development period but their price is higher than other poultry, fluctuating around 180,000 to 200,000 VND/kg; during Tet, the price is around 250,000 VND/kg.

In particular, beautiful pairs of chickens can be sold for millions of dong. However, if raised spontaneously, the efficiency is not high. Linking in breeding has helped households increase connection, introduction, and promotion activities so that multi-spur chicken products are widely known, stabilizing the market and price. At the same time, it creates jobs, increases income, and stabilizes life.

Vice Chairman of Tan Son District Farmers' Association Nguyen Thai Son said: The movement "Farmers compete in production, good business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty" has become a driving force for farmers to boldly exploit the potential and strengths of the locality, contributing to a strong shift in economic and labor structure; promoting the development of agricultural production models; models of association and cooperation in production and consumption of agricultural products and increasingly attracting a large number of farmer members to participate.

Along with that, the Association at all levels has well organized mutual support and assistance activities within farmers, through practical activities such as: Disseminating experience and production techniques; lending capital, exchanging labor; providing plants, seeds, materials, food... with a total value of over 3.9 billion VND and over 4,800 working days with plants, seeds, food... supporting and assisting equivalent to 868 million VND. Thereby, helping 257 farmer member families escape poverty. Many good farming households have supported and contributed tens of millions of VND to local funds, becoming prestigious cores in the community, contributing to building the Association, consolidating and strengthening solidarity in rural areas.

In the coming time, the Association at all levels will organize for members and farmers to register and evaluate good production and business households in accordance with the regulations of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association. At the same time, continue to synchronously implement many programs such as: Organizing consulting, support, service, and vocational training activities to help farmers develop production and business; mobilizing and guiding farmers to participate in developing collective economic forms, focusing on mobilizing cadres, members, farmers and good production and business households to participate in mutual support and assistance within the farmers, support capital, seeds, materials, working days, instructions on how to do things... so that poor and disadvantaged households can rise up to become rich and escape poverty sustainably...

By 2024, the province strives to have over 65,000 farming households achieving the title of Excellent Production and Business at all levels; establish 35 Excellent Production and Business Farmer Clubs, contributing to the successful implementation of the set goals and plans with local Party committees and authorities.
