Delegation of leaders of Hoa Binh province visited General Khamtay Siphandone, former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

On April 5, a delegation of leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Binh province, led by Comrade Nguyen Phi Long, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, laid a wreath at the memorial service of General Khamtay Siphandone, former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and former President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic at the Lao Embassy in Hanoi. Provincial leaders laid wreaths to pay tribute to General Khamtay Siphandone, former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and former President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, at the Lao Embassy in Hanoi.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, comrade Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, signed the condolence book in memory of General Khamtay Siphandone.

At the funeral, provincial leaders expressed their deepest condolences over the passing of General Khamtay Siphandone, former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and former President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. The passing of General Khamtay Siphandone is a great and irreparable loss to the Party, State and people of the Lao ethnic groups.

Immediately after the funeral, on behalf of the leaders of Hoa Binh province, comrade Nguyen Phi Long, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, signed the condolence book in memory of General Khamtay Siphandone. The content reads: "Deeply mourning General Khamtay Siphandone, former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, former President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. The Party Committee, government, armed forces and people of all ethnic groups in Hoa Binh province would like to send our deepest condolences to the Party, State, people of all ethnic groups in Laos and the family of General Khamtay Siphandone. We vow to follow in the footsteps of previous generations of leaders to continue to foster the Vietnam - Laos friendship to be forever green and everlasting.

Comrade General Khamtay Siphandone, born on February 8, 1924, former Chairman of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, former President, former Prime Minister, former Deputy Prime Minister, former Minister of National Defense of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, passed away at 10:30 a.m. on April 2, 2025, at the age of 102. He was an extremely close and intimate friend of the Party, State and People of Vietnam. During his lifetime, he always cared about and made many great contributions to building, consolidating and developing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos over the past time.

To express condolences to General Khamtay Siphandone, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly, the President, the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front decided to hold a state mourning for General Khamtay Siphandone on April 4 and 5, 2025.
