
The delegation supervised the topic "Implementation of resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee and the Provincial People's Council on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units; merging villages and residential groups in Lao Cai province, period 2019 - 2023".
Accordingly, Bat Xat district has reorganized 6 commune-level administrative units, including: merging Ngai Thau commune and A Lu commune into A Lu commune (before the reorganization, the number of cadres, civil servants and non-professional workers was 59; after the reorganization, 12 cadres, civil servants and 13 non-professional workers were reduced); adjusting the boundaries of Ban Qua commune to expand Bat Xat town; adjusting the transfer of the entire administrative unit of Coc San commune and 2 villages of Quang Kim commune to Lao Cai city.
After the reorganization and merger, Bat Xat district has 21 commune-level administrative units. The district People's Committee has directed specialized agencies to guide communes and towns to merge 33 villages and residential groups into 19 villages and residential groups.
Speaking at the meeting, delegates from communes and towns pointed out the difficulties and advantages in merging administrative units, especially for villages and residential groups, such as: resolving policies and regimes for cadres, civil servants, public employees and redundant workers; merging villages and residential groups with substandard households in sparsely populated areas, large areas, economic and traffic conditions and the conversion of some related documents still faces many difficulties...

Concluding the monitoring session, Mr. Vu Van Cai, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, acknowledged and highly appreciated the results achieved by the locality in implementing the administrative unit arrangement. At the same time, he requested the members of the monitoring delegation to synthesize the opinions and proposals of the locality to submit to the competent authority for consideration. The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council requested the locality to continue to supplement the reporting data, provide relevant information and documents to ensure accuracy for the working delegation.
