The visit aims to enhance political trust, contribute to concretizing the important common perception between the two General Secretaries of the two Parties and the Vietnam - China Joint Statement, especially the contents related to propaganda work; implementing cooperation agreements between the Central Propaganda Department and the Central Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China for the period 2024 - 2028.
On the morning of June 13, at the Great Hall of the People, Beijing, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, met with Comrade Wang Huning, Politburo Standing Committee member, Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.
Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia expressed his joy to visit the beautiful country of China; congratulated the great achievements that the Party, State and people of China have achieved in thoroughly implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the Resolution of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China; believed that the Communist Party of China will successfully organize the 3rd Plenum of the 20th Central Committee, propose important policies in the process of deepening comprehensive reform, promoting the process of modernization with the solid development foundations built in the 10 years of the "new era" and important achievements in all aspects since the 20th National Congress of China up to now.
Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia emphasized that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always appreciate and are grateful for the valuable support and assistance of the Party, State and people of China for the revolutionary cause of the Vietnamese people in the past, as well as in the cause of national construction and development today; affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always consider developing relations with China as a strategic choice and top priority in the overall foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification of foreign relations.
Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia provided an overview of the situation of our Party and country in recent times, the results of the 9th Central Conference of the 13th tenure of the Communist Party of Vietnam; the work of summarizing the theory and practice of 40 years of national renovation, preparing and serving the building of documents for the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
To continue effectively implementing the important guiding spirit and common perception between the two General Secretaries of the two Parties, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested that the two sides continue to maintain and enhance strategic exchanges, high-level and all-level exchanges, contributing to consolidating political trust, affirming the role of overall orientation of all aspects of cooperation between the two Parties and the two countries; strengthen the direction of sectors, levels and localities of the two countries to closely follow and seriously implement the common perception between the high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and the two countries, the Vietnam-China Joint Statements and signed cooperation documents; jointly maintain and promote the friendly atmosphere and peaceful and stable environment for the overall relations between the two Parties and the two countries that are developing very well; cooperate in information, propaganda, and organize well the activities to celebrate the events of 25 years of land border demarcation and 15 years of signing 3 legal documents on the Vietnam-China land border.
Regarding the East Sea issue, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested that it is necessary to comply with the high-level common perception of the two countries, put ourselves in each other's position, respect each other's legitimate and legal interests, make efforts to control and resolve disagreements by peaceful means, in accordance with international law and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS 1982), and make efforts to build the East Sea into a sea of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.
Comrade Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, highly appreciated the significance of the visit and working visit to China by the Communist Party of Vietnam delegation led by Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, member of the Politburo and Secretary of the Party Central Committee; congratulated the positive results in Vietnam's socio-economic development in recent times under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, as well as the work of summarizing the theory and practice of 40 years of renovation and preparing documents for the 14th National Congress; said that the Communist Party of China is willing to strengthen cooperation, exchange and share experiences in Party building and national governance; and believes that the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam will be a great success.
Comrade Vuong Huning emphasized that the cooperative relationship between the two Parties and two countries has entered a new historical period, reaching a new level after the mutual visits of the two General Secretaries of the two Parties; affirming that the development of the Party-channel cooperation will guide and create a solid guarantee for the overall cooperative relationship in all fields between the two countries to develop healthily and sustainably.
Comrade Vuong Ho Ninh highly appreciated and agreed with Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia's proposed ideas on the direction to promote cooperation between the two Parties and the two countries in the coming time; said that the two sides need to increase exchanges and share experiences in theoretical research and practical summaries, do a good job in ideological work, and jointly build a defense line against sabotage plots, peaceful evolution, and color revolution.
Comrade Wang Huning hopes that Vietnam will continue to support and participate more deeply in China's initiatives; affirm that it will create conditions for large, prestigious and capable enterprises to increase investment cooperation in Vietnam; closely coordinate with Vietnam to do a good job of propaganda work, enhance people-to-people exchanges, and create social consensus on the good traditional friendship between the two Parties and the two countries.
On the same afternoon, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia and the delegation had talks with Comrade Ly Thu Loi, Politburo member, Secretary of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China. At the talks, the two sides informed each other about the situation of each Party and each country; in-depth exchanges and sharing of results in summarizing theories and practices on Party building and socio-economic development; the implementation of contents related to propaganda/education work in the Vietnam-China Joint Statement in 2023 as well as cooperation documents between the two agencies of the Central Propaganda Department and the Central Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China; sharing opinions on directions to further promote the relationship between the two agencies in the coming time.
The two sides agreed that in addition to informing and propagating the situation of each Party and each country, and the friendly neighborly relationship between Vietnam and China, the two sides need to coordinate to effectively manage and control information on complex, sensitive, and contentious issues, not allowing hostile and reactionary forces to take advantage of distorting, falsifying, and dividing the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries.
* During the visit, the delegation also had a discussion with Chinese experts and scholars. The two sides exchanged and shared experiences in propaganda and foreign information work; orienting public opinion; controlling and preventing harmful and untrue information on cyberspace, building a clean and healthy internet environment. This is a practical activity to help concretize the Joint Statement between the two countries as well as the Cooperation Agreement between the two agencies, contributing to enhancing political trust between the two Parties and the two countries.
Previously, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia and the delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam visited and worked with major press and media agencies of the Chinese Party and State such as China Central Radio and Television, People's Daily; visited the Communist Party of China History Exhibition Hall; and visited and worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in Beijing.
