On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2024), on July 20, the provincial delegation led by comrade Doan Minh Huan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, organized a trip to "return to the source" to offer incense to commemorate heroic martyrs at Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery, Highway 9 National Martyrs Cemetery and Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Relic Site.
Accompanying him were comrade Mai Van Tuat, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of a number of departments, branches, sectors and mass organizations of the province.
During the resistance war to protect the Fatherland, Ninh Binh province had 235 thousand cadres and soldiers participating in the fight and serving in the fight on all fronts. Nearly 17,000 Ninh Binh people heroically sacrificed and were recognized as heroic martyrs. Currently, at Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery, there are over 265 martyrs who are children of Ninh Binh province.
In a solemn and respectful moment, on behalf of the Party Committee, army and people of Ninh Binh province, comrade Doan Minh Huan, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, rang the bell nine times and respectfully offered incense to express the deep gratitude of the Party Committee, Government and People of Ninh Binh province for the great contributions of the heroic martyrs. The delegation observed a minute of silence to commemorate the heroic martyrs who fought and sacrificed for the independence, freedom and unification of the country, and were laid to rest at the Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery.
The delegation offered incense and flowers at the Uncle Ho Memorial House and the Monument to Martyrs whose hometown is Ninh Binh. The Monument to Martyrs of Ninh Binh province was rebuilt in 2017. This is a project of great historical, cultural and spiritual significance, demonstrating the cultural characteristics of Ninh Binh.
The construction of the stele house demonstrates the morality of "remembering the source of water when drinking", the gratitude of the Party Committee, Government and People of Ninh Binh towards the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, and is a "red address" to educate the younger generation about patriotism, national pride, and the will to be self-reliant and self-reliant in the cause of building and developing the homeland and the country. After the incense offering ceremony, the provincial leaders burned incense on the graves of the heroic martyrs.
Next, the provincial delegation laid wreaths and offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the National Martyrs' Cemetery on Road 9 - the eternal resting place of over 10,000 martyrs, the Ha Nam Ninh martyrs' grave site and the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel Special Historical Relic Site.
At the cemeteries and relic sites, the delegation of Ninh Binh province expressed their deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, national reunification, and building and defending the Fatherland.
Before the heroic martyrs, the Party Committee, Government and People of Ninh Binh vow to unite, follow the tradition of our ancestors, and build our homeland to become more and more prosperous and civilized.
