Attending the ceremony were Party Central Committee member - Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh, Party Central Committee member - Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army Huynh Chien Thang, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Ngoc Tam, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation Nguyen Truc Son, along with comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Committee of the People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; leaders of departments, branches, sectors, organizations; representatives of the armed forces, veterans, the Provincial Business Association, religious dignitaries, leaders and people of Ben Tre City , Chau Thanh District.
The force performed the flower offering ceremony at the Provincial Martyrs' Cemetery Memorial.
In a solemn atmosphere, the delegation laid a wreath with the words "Forever grateful to the heroic martyrs", offered incense and observed a moment of silence to commemorate the outstanding children of the homeland who heroically sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland; visited the grounds of the Honoring Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and burned incense at the graves.
The delegation visited the provincial martyrs' cemetery to perform a silent memorial service to commemorate the heroic martyrs.
The memorial service is a key activity in a series of events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day in the province. Thereby, it contributesto educating the young generation about patriotism and national pride. At the same time, it reminds every citizen to always cherish historical values and live responsibly towards the country and community.
