Vietnamese rescue team leaves Myanmar for home

At 5:40 p.m. on April 8 (local time), a Vietnam Airlines plane carrying a Vietnamese delegation participating in earthquake relief efforts in Myanmar, including forces from the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security, departed Yangon International Airport for home.

Seeing off the delegation at Yangon airport were Vietnamese Ambassador to Myanmar Ly Quoc Tuan; Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein; along with officials and staff of the Embassy and the Vietnamese Defense Attaché Office in Myanmar and Mytel ( Viettel 's joint venture in Myanmar).

Vietnam People's Army rescue team hands over relief goods to Myanmar.

Along with welcoming the Vietnamese delegation, Vietnam Airlines aircraft also carried nearly 30 tons of relief goods from the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and Ministry of Public Security to Myanmar to help the neighboring country overcome difficulties caused by the earthquake disaster. The relief goods included dry food, tents, medicine and medical supplies, personal protective equipment, milk, etc. The entire shipment was handed over to Myanmar at Yangon airport for timely delivery to people in the affected areas.

The Vietnam People's Army delegation to Myanmar to support earthquake recovery, including 80 officers, professional soldiers, sniffer dogs and specialized search equipment, arrived in Myanmar on the evening of March 30. The delegation then deployed rescue and relief work in earthquake-affected areas in the capital Naypyidaw.

The plane carrying the Vietnamese delegation is expected to land at Noi Bai airport on the evening of April 8.
