Vietnamese rescue team ends mission in Myanmar

According to information from the National Civil Defense Steering Committee, on April 6, the Vietnamese rescue team stopped search and rescue operations in Myanmar and gathered and counted medical equipment and supplies. According to the schedule, on the night of April 7, the Vietnamese rescue team arrived in Yangon (Myanmar); it is expected that on the afternoon of April 8, a Vietnam Airlines plane will take the team to Noi Bai airport.

During two meetings between the Vietnamese delegation commander and the leaders of the Myanmar Rescue and Relief Department, chaired by the Myanmar Minister of Social Welfare and Reconstruction, the Myanmar government expressed its appreciation and gratitude for the efforts and results of the Vietnamese delegation. The Vietnamese soldiers did not hesitate to coordinate in searching, evacuating victims from the collapsed area and handing them over to local authorities.

As of 5:30 p.m. on April 6, the rescue team of the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam discovered and removed 28 bodies from the rubble in Myanmar, saving one person.

During the rescue process in Myanmar, the Vietnamese delegation organized medical examinations, provided free medicine, first aid, disinfected, changed bandages, distributed medicine to victims, set up tents as temporary shelters for homeless victims, and sprayed disinfectants and anti-mosquitoes in residential areas affected by the earthquake.

The delegation also donated 40 tons of dry food to local people to support people in areas affected by the earthquake.

In addition, during their mission in the collapsed areas, the delegation discovered and handed over many valuable assets to families in the capital Naypyidaw.

According to schedule, on the night of April 7, the Vietnamese rescue team arrived in Yangon (Myanmar); it is expected that on the afternoon of April 8, a Vietnam Airlines plane will take the team to Noi Bai airport.
