Nghe An province delegation celebrates traditional Bunpimay New Year in Xay Som Bun province, Lao PDR

The delegation included: Colonel Le Nhu Cuong - Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard Command; Colonel Nguyen Duc Cuong - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police; Colonel Hoang Dinh Luan - Deputy Commander of the Provincial Military Command and representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Office of the National Assembly Delegation and the Provincial People's Council.

Receiving the delegation, on the side of Xay Som Bun province, Lao PDR, there was comrade Phoi Kham Hung Bun Nhuong - Secretary, Provincial Governor, comrades in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and representatives of leaders of a number of relevant departments and branches of Xay Som Bun province.

In the joyful atmosphere welcoming the New Year of the Lao ethnic people, comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, armed forces and people of Nghe An sent the best wishes, full of joy, happiness and success to the leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, Council, Government Committee, Lao Front Committee for National Construction, armed forces and all Lao ethnic people of Xay Som Bun province; Wishing the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam - Laos, Nghe An - Xay Som Bun "forever green, forever sustainable".

Comrade Nguyen Nam Dinh also expressed his joy and appreciation for the extremely important achievements in the fields of politics , socio-economics, national defense - security, and foreign affairs, contributing to the cause of building and protecting Laos of Xay Som Bun province. He also informed the main features of the situation and results of socio-economic development, national defense and security of Nghe An province achieved in 2023.

Nghe An province has made efforts to maintain a good growth rate, reaching 7.14%; State budget revenue reached 21,279 billion VND, equal to 134% of the plan, the second year exceeding the 20 trillion VND mark; Attracting FDI capital is a bright spot, for two consecutive years Nghe An has been in the top 10 localities with the largest FDI capital in the country, reaching nearly 1 billion USD in 2022, nearly 1.6 billion USD in 2023, ranking 8th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

These results, in addition to the efforts, initiative and creativity of the Party Committee, the government and the people of Nghe An province, also have the valuable cooperation and support of the Party Committee, the government and the people of all ethnic groups in Xay Som Bun province (Laos). In particular, Nghe An province sincerely thanks the Party Committee, the government and the people of Xay Som Bun province for their active support to the Nghe An province's Collection Team in the work of searching, collecting and retrieving the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts who died in Laos.

In 2022, based on the proposal of Xay Som Bun province, Nghe An province received support for 10 months of Vietnamese language training for 10 students of Xay Som Bun province at Nghe An Pedagogical College. After completing the Vietnamese language course, if qualified, the students will be admitted to university level training at schools in the province with full scholarships granted by Nghe An province.

Nghe An and Xay Som Bun provinces regularly organize delegation exchanges, information exchanges, and congratulatory messages on holidays, New Year, and important historical events of Vietnam and Laos and the two provinces through diplomatic channels.

He thanked Nghe An province for its affection for Xay Som Bun province and deeply appreciated the help and support that Nghe An province has given to Xay Som Bun province in the past time.

Comrade Phoi Kham Hung Bun Nhuong - Secretary and Governor of Xay Som Bun province also affirmed: Under the wise leadership of the two Parties, especially the solidarity, close-knit relationship and cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, Xay Som Bun province will continue to strengthen and foster solidarity and friendship with Nghe An province, to continuously develop and achieve more results and successes.
