Quang Binh delegation visits Ami Savanakhet wind power project in Laos

On August 27, a delegation from Quang Binh province led by Provincial Party Secretary Vu Dai Thang visited and worked at the Ami Savanakhet Wind Power Project (Laos).

Ami Savanakhet Wind Power Project (Laos) is invested by Ami Renewables Quang Binh Investment Joint Stock Company. The project is implemented in 5 villages of Se Pon district, Savanakhet province. The total land use area is about 106 hectares.

According to the representative of Ami Renewables Quang Binh Investment Joint Stock Company, in the past time, with the attention of the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Committee of Quang Binh province and central and local agencies, the support of the people as well as the local government of Savanankhet province, the central agencies of the Lao PDR, the investor has now completed the survey of the terrain, geology, and hydrology of the entire factory and station.

In addition, the company has installed 2 wind measuring towers and is in the process of installing 2 more; completed the environmental impact assessment according to Lao law; constructed and upgraded connecting roads and residential roads to benefit the people at a cost of about 37 billion VND; initiated negotiations to sign a concession contract with the Lao government . In general, legal procedures in Laos have been basically completed.

However, the project is still facing some difficulties and problems, so the investor representative hopes that the leaders of Quang Binh province will continue to pay attention and recommend that the Vietnamese Government and relevant ministries and branches prioritize creating favorable conditions for the project to be completed soon.

According to Quang Binh Provincial Party Secretary Vu Dai Thang, the Ami Savanakhet Wind Power Project (Laos) is a symbol of the special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Quang Binh - Savannakhet in particular, Vietnam - Laos in general. In addition, after completion, the project will play an important role in economic development, ensuring energy security, contributing to ensuring national defense and security in the Vietnam - Laos border area in Quang Binh.
