British Embassy delegation in Vietnam paid a courtesy visit to provincial leaders

During the visit and work in Nghe An, the British Embassy delegation in Vietnam led by Mr. Ian Frew, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Vietnam, had a working session and paid a courtesy call to the provincial leaders.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Comrade Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his joy to welcome the delegation to visit and work in Nghe An province and informed Mr. Ian Frew and the members of the delegation about their hometown Nghe An.

In particular, Nghe An ranks 8th out of 63 provinces and cities attracting the largest FDI capital in the country. In the first 10 months of 2024, the export turnover to the UK market is estimated to reach nearly 22 million USD. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that in the coming time, Mr. Ian Frew will create a bridge to introduce businesses to learn about and invest in Nghe An province. He proposed to continue receiving support from the British Government in supporting the work of preventing and combating human trafficking, cooperation in preventing and combating climate change, and education and training.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Vietnam respectfully thanked the provincial leaders for the warm and friendly reception given to the delegation.

Sir Ian Frew emphasized that the UK and Vietnam will soon celebrate 15 years of strategic partnership, and the two countries have cooperated in many fields, of which green energy development is a field in which Vietnam has a lot of potential.

The Ambassador also affirmed that in the coming time, he will continue to accompany Nghe An province in activities to expand trade cooperation and introduce more British businesses to invest in the province.
