Government delegation works online with leaders of the Provincial People's Committee

On December 21, the Government delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Minister of Transport, had an online meeting with the two provinces of Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan on the situation of production, business, public investment, infrastructure construction and import and export of the localities. At the provincial bridge, Mr. Nguyen Long Bien, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of departments and branches attended the meeting.

At the meeting, the provinces reported on the results of socio-economic development in 2023, and at the same time proposed a number of contents to the Government delegation. For Ninh Thuan province, in 2023, the province's GRDP growth rate reached 9.4%; total state budget revenue is estimated at 3,658 billion VND, reaching 100% of the plan; total social investment capital is about 22,710 billion VND, reaching 102.3% of the plan, up 15.3% over the same period; total import-export turnover reached 210 million USD, up 1.7% over the same period; disbursement of public investment capital is over 76.2% of the plan.

To resolve some difficulties and problems in socio-economic development, in 2023, the province proposed 27 contents to central ministries and branches, up to now, 21 contents have been answered and resolved; 6 contents are still stuck; of which there are 2 major contents, the province proposed the Ministry of Industry and Trade to soon advise on the issuance of a plan to implement the 8th Power Plan and issue legal documents guiding the implementation of electricity price mechanisms, bidding, auction, investment in power transmission infrastructure, ensuring the plan is soon implemented according to the set roadmap; request the Ministry of Planning and Investment, Natural Resources and Environment to consider guiding the Provincial People's Committee to complete the project to stabilize production, people's lives and develop residential areas for the locations previously planned for Ninh Thuan 1 and 2 nuclear power plants under the direction of the Government.

Speaking at the meeting, the Minister of Transport highly appreciated the province's achievements in socio-economic development in 2023, hoping that the province will continue to have breakthrough solutions to maintain the development momentum and accelerate in 2024. Regarding some recommendations of the province, he suggested that ministries and branches continue to pay attention and support the province to remove difficulties and obstacles in developing renewable energy and related issues for the previously planned locations of Ninh Thuan 1 and 2 nuclear power plants. In particular, in the coming time, the Ministry of Transport will provide maximum support to the province to speed up the progress of the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway project, the connecting routes between Ninh Thuan and neighboring provinces, in order to contribute to creating a breakthrough in transport infrastructure to promote the socio-economic development of the province.
