This is one of the activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024), the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024) and the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024).
At the Museum, the delegation listened to explanations and visited 6 detailed topics: The beginning of the country's founding and defense in 700 BC - 938; Protecting national independence 939-1858; Fighting against French colonialism to gain national independence, 1858-1945; Resistance against French colonialism 1945-1954; Resistance against American imperialism 1954-1975; Building and defending the country 1975-2024...

Along with that, the delegation also spent time visiting documents, images, and artifacts of historical, cultural, and scientific value, reflecting the process of building, fighting, and maturing of our Army in the cause of national liberation, building, and defending the Fatherland. Especially the artifacts associated with the feats of the Air Defense - Air Force such as the MiG-21 aircraft with serial number 4324 and the MiG-21 aircraft with serial number 5121 produced by the Soviet Union, aided to Vietnam, and equipped by the Air Defense - Air Force for the Red Star Air Force.
The SA-75 DVINA (SAM-2) missile launcher and shell made by the Soviet Union were equipped for the 77th Missile Battalion, 257th Missile Regiment, 361st Air Defense Division, which participated in combat and shot down US aircraft in the Air Defense Campaign to protect Hanoi in December 1972, contributing to the victory of "Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the air"...

It is known that the Vietnam Military History Museum is located on Thang Long Avenue (Tay Mo and Dai Mo wards, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi). The museum opened to visitors from November 1.

Artifacts of aircraft, tanks and many large types of weapons captured during the resistance wars, associated with many important historical events and figures, will be displayed in two areas next to the square with an area of over 20,000 square meters.
The exhibition space inside the museum on the first floor is divided into 6 themes, arranged in chronological order.
The newly built museum has a modern, multi-functional design. The museum's architecture is not only a work displaying war history, but also creates a common space for visitors to interact and experience the struggle for national independence of the heroic Vietnam People's Army.
The topics are arranged in chronological order and have a reasonable layout. All artifacts are specifically annotated and accompanied by event information. There is also a variety of presentation formats, including text, information lookup screens, photo media, automatic audioguide narration, and QR codes for looking up information about artifacts and images.
The large space of the museum not only displays artifacts but also introduces many valuable documentary images of important meetings that decided the victory of the Vietnamese revolution; the process of organizing and fighting of units, providing visitors with an overall and detailed view of the events.
