“Any attack on NATO will be met with a united and robust response,” Mr. Stoltenberg added.

The statement was made by Mr. Stoltenberg to refute former US President Donald Trump's comments about not protecting NATO allies who do not pay enough.

Earlier, speaking to supporters in Nevada on January 27, former President Donald Trump said that America had lost its way and that incumbent President Joe Biden's policies were the cause.

Regarding the US-NATO relationship, Mr. Donald Trump said he did not believe in NATO's desire to protect the US. "I hate to tell you this about NATO, if we need their help, like we are attacked, I do not believe they will be there (to protect us)," he emphasized.
