Kon Tum City focuses on urban development in the direction of 3 belt roads, 6 development zones, forming urban centers connected by a smart and modern transportation system.

Delegates pressed the button to open the Kon Tum City Tourism Promotion Festival and connect tourism with cities in the Central Highlands, Tuy Hoa City (Phu Yen province).

On the evening of April 10, at 16/3 Square, Kon Tum City held the Opening Ceremony of a series of activities to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the City's founding (April 10, 2009 - April 10, 2024) in conjunction with the Kon Tum City Tourism Promotion Festival and tourism connection between cities in the Central Highlands and Tuy Hoa City (Phu Yen Province).

Chairman of Kon Tum City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Man said that the City has been recognized by the Government as a Class II urban area under the province, this is an important mark of the City. To effectively exploit the potential, advantages and overcome difficulties in the coming period, the Party Committee, government and people of the city continue to promote the strength of its position as the center of the province and the potential and resources of the locality.

"Focus on urban development in the direction of 3 belt roads, 6 development zones; forming urban centers connected by smart, friendly and modern transportation systems. Preserving and maximizing cultural identity, advantages, and natural potentials to form urban structures combined with social infrastructure systems and technical infrastructure to meet immediate and long-term development needs. At the same time, developing Kon Tum city into a commercial - financial center, a bridge between localities in trading, connecting, consuming goods, agricultural products, services, connecting tours with localities inside and outside the province", Mr. Man emphasized.

In addition, Kon Tum City invests in developing new urban areas to expand urban space in the direction of: "Taking Dak Bla River as the center, as the backbone to focus on investing in building infrastructure, creating landscapes, creating premises for developing trade - services - tourism".

Building connections in the supply chain of “raw material area - processing area, production - consumption area” with other dynamic economic areas. In particular, continuing to maintain tourism - service connections between Kon Tum city and urban areas in the Central and Central Highlands regions and orienting connections with other major cities across the country.

According to Mr. Man, Kon Tum city is investing in developing and expanding industrial clusters to create a breakthrough in economic development, such as: H'Nor Craft Village Industrial - Handicraft Cluster; Thanh Trung Industrial Cluster; Hoa Binh Industrial Cluster and continuing to invest in Ngo May Ward Industrial Cluster and Dak Cam Commune; at the same time, proposing the Provincial People's Committee to supplement the planning of 8 industrial - handicraft clusters in the South of the City, with an area of ​​570 hectares (period 2021-2030).

At the Celebration, Kon Tum city opened the Festival to promote tourism connection between cities in the Central Highlands and Tuy Hoa city in 2024. With the motto "Accompanying to go far together - Connecting to develop together", the cities participating in the Festival had many practical activities to develop tourism and attract investment to develop tourism in each locality; at the same time, creating a regional linkage chain and increasing the quantity of existing tourism products.
