Not only known as a member of the group Turbo with Kim Jong Kook and Mikey, Kim Jung Nam is also the pioneer of the beriberi dance that became popular in Korea in the 1990s.

Turbo is a South Korean boy band formed in 1995 with two original members, Kim Jong Kook and Kim Jung Nam. In 1997, member Mikey overcame 3,500 candidates in an audition to become a part of the group.

The three-member boy band became one of the biggest stars of the Korean entertainment industry between 1995 and 2001, selling millions of albums across Asia.

Kim Jung Nam joined Turbo as a DJ, but in the group he was in charge of rapping and choreography. The group set a record when they released their first album 280 km/h Speed ​​in 1995, selling over 300,000 copies in a short time.

Just a year after their debut, Turbo returned with their second album New Sensation , which quickly sold over 800,000 copies within two months.

On December 30, 1998, Turbo was invited to participate in the Asia Super Concert representing Korea.

The concert featured singers from across Asia including Japan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Taiwan, and was broadcast live on major television stations in many countries.

If Kim Jong Kook stands out with his powerful voice, Kim Jung Nam is the early "dance master" of K-pop.

The moves he choreographed became a trend among Korean youth in the years 1900 - 2000.

However, the group's glory was extinguished when the management company was accused of oppressing and beating the artists. Kim Jung Nam, unable to bear the pressure, regretfully left the group.

At the age of 52, artist Kim Jung Nam is still working hard in the arts, regularly participating in Korean music programs.

To thank fans and celebrate the group's 20th anniversary, all three Turbo members reunited after nearly 15 years in 2015.

The group released a new album on December 21, 2015, the title track Again features national MC Yoo Jae Suk and many big names such as Lee Kwang Soo and Cha Tae Hyun.

In addition, Turbo has also appeared on many variety shows such as SBS's Running Man and KBS 2TV's Happy Together .

Vietnam Pho Festival 2024 takes place on October 5 and 6, 2024 at Pie Factory, 441 Gwangnaru-ro, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul (Korea).

The program is co-organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea, Tuoi Tre newspaper, Saigontourist Group, under the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the coordination of the Trade Promotion Agency of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade, General Association of Vietnamese in Korea, Vietnam Business Association in Korea, Korea - Southeast Asia Economic Cooperation Association (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea).

Vietnam Pho Festival 2024 has a performance stage, nearly 70 booths, including more than 40 booths selling pho and Vietnamese and Korean delicacies. Besides, there is a space for cultural experiences, exhibitions, and introductions to Vietnamese culinary culture and tourism.

With the slogan "Enjoy Pho, Discover Vietnam", the program organizers hope to use Vietnam Pho Festival to create people-to-people diplomacy activities, promote the friendly relations between the two countries, promote culinary culture, and connect trade based on the economic and tourism potentials of Vietnam and Korea.
