On this holiday, Grand Saigon and Vien Dong hotels (District 1) expect an occupancy rate of over 98%, a significant increase compared to the same period in 2024. According to Grand Saigon, the hotel has increased about 33% of seasonal staff, increased 20% of room staff, 15% of reception, security, kitchen staff, etc. to meet the strong holiday demand of people and tourists.

Improve service quality

Most of the group tours to Ho Chi Minh City have been booked and this year the Ho Chi Minh City tourism industry has also received positive news when the number of visitors is expected to increase sharply. Travel agencies such as Saigontourist, Vietravel, Vietluxtour, Du Lich Viet... confirmed that the number of visitors to Ho Chi Minh City has increased sharply compared to the same period in previous years. In particular, some tours have attracted a large number of registered visitors such as the "50 years - Return to the beloved South" tour of Saigontourist Travel for veterans from all over the country to Ho Chi Minh City to visit the old battlefield and combine tourism with quite a lot of interested visitors. In addition to familiar destinations (Reunification Hall, Cu Chi Tunnels Historical Site...), visitors will be able to visit metro line 1 Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien, City Post Office, City Theater, City tour and experience the double-decker bus... Tour routes such as "Legend of the heroic commandos of Sac Forest", "Saigon Special Forces", "Saigon past and present"... deployed by Vietluxtour Travel have been scheduled to "run" continuously from now until the end of May...

Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, informed that the highlight of the April 30 and May 1 holidays this year is the series of large-scale commemorative activities. Travel businesses have integrated many activities (watching parades, marches, fireworks, city tours, etc.) so that domestic and foreign visitors can experience and immerse themselves in the special historical event of the country. “The Department has requested businesses, restaurants, hotels, entertainment areas, etc. to improve service quality, enhance the experience for tourists; ensure food safety and hygiene, and prevent price increases and price gouging,” said Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa.

To facilitate the travel of people and tourists to Ho Chi Minh City during the April 30 and May 1 holidays, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport and Public Works has developed many plans to coordinate bus routes, such as from April 30 to May 4, at the inter-provincial bus station, the department mobilized 6,600 buses to serve people; mobilized additional bus routes to serve Tan Son Nhat airport, Saigon station... With metro line 1, it is expected to increase the frequency from 200 to 240 trips/day, serving about 120,000 passengers per day...
