Suspend mining activities of 4 quarries in Lam Dong

On August 24, information from the People's Committee of Bao Loc city said that the unit has requested the City Police, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and the People's Committees of Dai Lao, Loc Chau, and Dam Bri communes to coordinate in inspecting and supervising the implementation of the suspension of mineral exploitation activities of 4 enterprises.

The companies whose mineral exploitation was suspended include: Tan Anh Tu Joint Stock Company; Ngoc Lam Joint Stock Company; BPH Joint Stock Company and Tan Viet Joint Stock Company.

The leaders of Bao Loc City People's Committee assigned relevant units and People's Committees of communes to proactively coordinate and inspect and supervise the above 4 enterprises in complying with the suspension of mineral exploitation activities according to the granted mineral exploitation licenses.

In case during the period of suspension of operations, enterprises still exploit minerals, they must be resolutely handled according to regulations or notified to competent authorities for handling according to regulations.

According to the investigation, the suspended enterprises all have licenses to exploit construction stone. In particular, the exploitation area of Tan Viet Joint Stock Company is 7 hectares in Dam Bri commune for 29 years (2007 - 2036).

The exploitation area of Tan Anh Tu Joint Stock Company is 4.7 hectares in Dai Lao commune for 29 years (2010 - 2039). The exploitation area of Ngoc Lam Joint Stock Company is 10 hectares in Dai Lao commune for 25 years (2013 - 2038). The exploitation area of BPH Joint Stock Company is 6.3 hectares in Dam Bri commune for 23.5 years (2019 - 2043).

Previously, in June 2024, all four enterprises were administratively fined. Of which, Tan Viet Joint Stock Company was administratively fined nearly 143 million VND; BPH Joint Stock Company was fined nearly 142 million VND; Tan Anh Tu Joint Stock Company was fined more than 90 million VND and Ngoc Lam Joint Stock Company was fined more than 140 million VND.

In addition to the fines, all four enterprises were suspended from mining (construction stone) for five months for committing many violations in the fields of minerals and environmental protection.
