Investigation into fatal accident involving a ward chairman

On June 13, information from Uong Bi City Police said that the unit is coordinating with the Uong Bi City People's Procuracy and the Uong Bi City People's Committee to investigate the fatal accident that occurred in the area.

According to initial information, at around 7:30 p.m. on June 9, on National Highway 18, through Nam Khe Ward (Uong Bi City), a Ford Everest BS 14A - 025.90 car suddenly collided with an electric bicycle going in the same direction, causing the driver of the electric bicycle to die at the scene.

After the accident, Uong Bi City Police were present to investigate the incident and identified the victim as Mr. D.VT (60 years old, residing in Nam Trung area, Nam Khe ward).

Notably, the police also identified the driver of the car in the accident as Mr. Luong Tien Dat, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Trung Vuong Ward (Uong Bi City). Mr. D.VT is also a relative of Mr. Luong Tien Dat.

Uong Bi City People's Committee has directed functional departments and offices to support the victims' families in accordance with regulations.

The case is being further investigated by Uong Bi City Police.
