What helped Miss Thanh Thuy make history at Miss International 2024

Miss Vietnam 2022 - Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy is the first Vietnamese beauty to be crowned Miss International after 19 times Vietnam sent a representative to participate, since 1995.

Important victory of Vietnamese beauty

During the two weeks of competition, Thanh Thuy maintained her form through activities and sub-competitions, appearing neat, with careful makeup and hair.

Before the final night, international beauty sites Missosology and Sash Factor both ranked Thanh Thuy as a top candidate for the crown.

Since joining the contest, the moments of the Vietnamese representative have always received positive responses from audiences at home and abroad. In other sideline activities of the contest, Miss Thanh Thuy has demonstrated her fluent communication skills, confidence and friendliness.

In the talent round, Thanh Thuy danced with silk and had a “transformation” by changing her costume right on stage. To promote Vietnamese culture, the beauty brought the national costume “Lua Nang Sen” inspired by the traditional silk weaving craft.

She actively teaches other contestants to speak Vietnamese, bringing the elegant, gentle image of Vietnamese women to the world .

According to Missosology, Miss International is a long-standing contest, with beauty standards that lean towards harmonious, sweet, and lovely beauty. Representatives coming to this arena often have luxurious fashion styles and elegant features.

In previous years, Vietnamese beauties often won the title of Miss Runner-up or Top 5 of a national contest, were appointed as Miss International Vietnam and competed internationally. Thanh Thuy is Miss Vietnam The first and also the rare candidate to be crowned national beauty queen at Miss International this year.

Before Miss Thanh Thuy, the achievements of Vietnamese representatives were not too outstanding, with only 3 people in the Top 15, 1 person in the Top 8 and 1 person winning 3rd runner-up. It can be said that Vietnam is not a country with a strong sash like Colombia or Venezuela.

This year, Thanh Thuy was expected to be Miss Vietnam - the oldest and most prestigious contest in Vietnam. She has an appearance that is considered suitable for the criteria of Miss International, speaks English well, has prepared carefully and gained experience from her predecessors. Thanh Thuy's victory marks a new milestone for Vietnamese beauty in the international arena.

Mission of a Miss International

Miss International was founded in 1960, has a long history and carries the mission of empowering women, promoting international cooperation. The contest is mainly held in Japan and attracts about 80 countries to participate each year. This is an opportunity for representatives to exchange cultures, strengthen friendship and diplomacy .

Through many years of changing strategies, sending representatives with diverse styles and rich biographies to compete, Vietnam has won the first crown with the peach blossom symbol.

After winning the crown, Miss Thanh Thuy shared with Japan's PR Times: "Throughout this journey, I have always tried to pay attention to every detail, from skills, costumes to self-expression, with the goal of becoming the first Vietnamese person to win in the history of the contest. With the mission of Miss International 2024, I will continue to strive and pursue my goal."

With Thanh Thuy's achievements, Vietnam now has a total of 4/6 crowns at the "BIG 6" contests (the 6 biggest beauty contests on the planet), along with Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien (Miss Grand International), Phuong Khanh (Miss Earth), Bao Ngoc (Miss Intercontinental).

Thanks to this crown, the ranking of Vietnamese sash in the international beauty arena is expected to increase significantly.
