TPO - After the Hanoi Department of Transport had a plan to adjust traffic organization on Kim Nguu Street and bridges across Kim Nguu River, many vehicles on the route traveled in the opposite direction, ignoring the signs.

From March 16 to June 16, 2024, the Hanoi Department of Transport will adjust traffic organization on Kim Nguu Street and bridges across Kim Nguu River, from alley 54 Kim Nguu to Minh Khai Street - Mai Dong Bridge according to the pilot plan for one-way traffic for cars on Kim Nguu Street (section west of Kim Nguu River, starting from alley 54 Kim Nguu to Minh Khai intersection - Mai Dong Bridge).

Organize one-way traffic for cars on Dong Kim Nguu street (section and traffic direction from Minh Khai intersection - Mai Dong bridge - Kim Nguu to opposite lane 54 Kim Nguu street to go to Tran Khat Chan). At the same time, reorganize traffic for vehicles on bridges S2, S3, S4 on Kim Nguu street.

According to the reporter's records, in the first days of implementing traffic organization adjustments on Kim Nguu street, many motorbikes went in the wrong direction at S2 bridge (section and traffic direction from Tay Kim Nguu to Dong Kim Nguu) and a section of Dong Kim Nguu street from S2 bridge to alley 54 Kim Nguu; many cars went in the wrong direction on Dong Kim Nguu and Tay Kim Nguu streets despite the prohibition signs.

"After hearing the traffic adjustment plan here, I think it's reasonable, because this street only needs two cars going in opposite directions to avoid each other, and traffic jams can easily occur. Many people are used to it and don't pay attention to the no-entry signs so they go in the wrong direction. Hopefully, traffic in this area will improve and there will be no more traffic jams, especially during rush hour," said Mr. Hoang Hiep (32 years old, Hoang Mai district, Hanoi).

The implementation of traffic organization adjustment on Kim Nguu street and bridges over Kim Nguu river, from alley 54 Kim Nguu to Minh Khai street - Mai Dong bridge according to the pilot plan for one-way traffic on Kim Nguu street started from March 16.

According to the reporter, in the first days of implementation, many cars and motorbikes went in the wrong direction when entering Kim Nguu street despite the prohibition sign.

According to the organization plan, motorbikes and rudimentary vehicles will travel in one direction (cars are not allowed to operate) on S2 bridge (section and direction of traffic from West Kim Nguu to East Kim Nguu).

According to the adjustment plan, automobiles will travel one way on Tay Kim Nguu Street (section and direction from lane 54 Kim Nguu to Minh Khai intersection - Mai Dong bridge) and Dong Kim Nguu Street (section and direction from Minh Khai intersection - Mai Dong bridge - Kim Nguu to opposite lane 54 Kim Nguu Street to go to Tran Khat Chan).

According to observations, although there are signs prohibiting cars at intersections along the road, many drivers, lacking observation, still drive their cars in the wrong direction on both Dong Kim Nguu and Tay Kim Nguu streets. Some drivers discovered the signs and changed direction in time, but this caused traffic chaos at that time.

On bridge S3 (section and traffic direction from East Kim Nguu to West Kim Nguu) and bridge S4 (section and traffic direction from West Kim Nguu to East Kim Nguu) are organized for one-way traffic.
