Unclarified matters in the case
Many days have passed, but the case of a Korean woman's body being discovered in a pond in Cambodia is still shocking public opinion.
Authorities have not yet revealed the identity of the unfortunate victim. However, based on blurred photos in the news, Korean media believe that the victim is BJ Ah Yeong (real name Byun Ah Yeong, 33 years old).
Streamer Ah Yeong is believed to be the female girl whose body was dumped in Cambodia.
According to the latest information from Edaily, Cambodian police said it is very difficult to determine the cause of Ah Yeong's death.
Police said an autopsy would be performed to determine the exact cause of death. However, her family said the opposite was true and hoped the investigation would be completed as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, in an article titled: "BJ Ah Yeong, the mystery of death due to a medical accident in Cambodia", writer Lee Jin Ho of Sports Chosun also raised many hidden issues related to the incident.
"Ah Yeong did not go there alone. She was accompanied by a female friend. They went to Cambodia together, but after Ah Yeong disappeared, no announcement was made for 3 days.
Even the woman who accompanied Ah Yeong was not revealed at the consulate. The consulate is also keeping quiet despite the growing anxiety of local people about the series of mysterious deaths in Cambodia," Lee Jin Ho wrote.
The writer also questioned Ah Yeong's family's refusal to conduct an autopsy.
South Korean comedian Seo Se Won dies at 67, at a Korean hospital in Cambodia
In addition, Lee Jin Ho also mentioned the incident of comedian Seo Se Won passing away on April 20, 2023 while being treated at a Korean hospital in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The cause of death was announced by Cambodian police as cardiac arrest due to diabetes. But at the time of Seo Se Won's death, propofol (a drug commonly used as an anesthetic) was found in the hospital. In addition, the hospital had not yet been officially opened.
In addition, Dispatch discovered that the hospital where Seo Se Won received the IV injection had no doctors, only a nurse and a Korean director running it.
Notably, only Seo Se Won and a nurse were in the room when he received the IV, and this nurse was also on her first day of work. Dispatch also suspected that the facilities here were lacking.
The suspect admitted to dumping the body.
Earlier on June 11, media reported that a South Korean woman in her 30s was found dead in Cambodia on June 6. Her body was discovered by locals wrapped in a blanket and dumped in a pond in a village near Phnom Penh.
According to Cambodian media, the girl arrived in the Southeast Asian country on June 2. She is believed to have died on her second day in the country after being injected with drugs at a local hospital.
Local police said they had arrested the hospital's owners, a Chinese couple.

The Rasmei Kampuchea (Cambodia) newspaper reported that the two suspects admitted to dumping the body but denied killing the Korean girl.
The suspect said that the girl had come to their clinic for an IV and serum injection on June 4. She then suddenly had a seizure and stopped breathing. After her death, the suspect and his wife used their own car to transport the victim’s body to Kandal province to dispose of it.
However, the autopsy results showed that the girl's death was not simply a medical accident. The forensic report noted that the victim's neck was broken, her face and body had bruises and burns, and she was suspected of being abused before her death.
Police are still investigating the case. Friends who accompanied the Korean girl to Cambodia have also been summoned for questioning.
