Actor Nam Cha shares his feelings after winning "Laughing Across Vietnam 2023"

Nam Cha said he will take a few days to enjoy, calm down and start thinking about what to do next to show his gratitude to the audience and thank his colleagues for their wholehearted support.

"I have gone through a long journey with 4 to 5 months of training with my colleagues to reach an important milestone in my career. A difficult journey with countless challenges. Sometimes, I thought I could not continue, but with the passion and love from the audience and colleagues, I was given the strength to try to overcome and reach the destination" - actor Nam Cha confided.

To win the Gala and awards ceremony on the evening of May 5th held in Ho Chi Minh City, Nam Cha with the advice of Vo Tan Phat and Huu Dang had to overcome two other candidates, Di Duong and Huyen Tram. He chose a performance called "Together to Shine" to recreate his thorny but equally interesting journey to conquer his passion.

"I am used to the improvisational style of performing on the bingo stage, so when I entered the competition with professionalism and meticulousness, I felt nervous and pressured because I could not keep up with the pace and flow of the program. That pressure made me feel scared and anxious when I stepped on stage and gradually lost my personal color. At first, when I went on stage to perform, I only focused on reading my lines like... reciting a lesson because I had to remember the script, remember my co-star's lines, the performance rhythm, the lines... and could not resolve the confusion, I wanted to give up" - Nam Cha confided.

Thanks to the enthusiastic support from close colleagues and advice and inspiration, Nam Cha gradually regained his confidence and enthusiasm. He began to "transform" with charmingly inserted comedic pieces.

"I am extremely grateful to the older artists who did not hesitate to support and love me. They all put aside their personal work, even refused many shows to practice and contribute to my performance. I felt the affection that everyone had for me. They loved me because of their brotherhood, their colleagueship and their great passion for the profession. Minh Nhat, Nhu Truc, Huu Dang, Vo Tan Phat, Maika, Kim Nha, Tu... everyone put their efforts into helping me" - Nam Cha said.

He added that after participating in "Laughing Across Vietnam", he realized that he had a lot to learn about acting and theater. He plans to continue practicing his voice, learning more about acting, stage diction, etc. "The competition is a foundation and a place for me to see that I need to try harder, not to be satisfied or content. I have to be responsible for my work, for the audience, and invest in my roles" - the actor confided.

Nam Cha was born in 1992 and is known as a "Drag queen (a male performer with a feminine style of dress, accompanied by thick, bold makeup) who specializes in singing bingo on many stages.

He also played a small role in the movie "Loto", appeared in programs such as "Loto Show - Thousand Flowers Theater", "Mysterious Singer", accompanied 3 seasons of "Happy Memories" as a Line Up member, was a member of the Ngu Long Du Ky group including actors: Phi Phung, Phuong Dung, Thuy Muoi, Miss Diem Huong...

On his journey to find his passion, Nam Cha has not had an easy time. He has worked as an assistant in the production team, as a costume designer, and as a prop maker for the film crew… no matter how small the job, Nam Cha still does it with a cheerful, energetic, diligent, and dedicated spirit.
