Drama and film acting is a difficult, toxic and dangerous profession.

Additional professions at college level include circus instructors, folk performing arts, circus performers, drama and film actors, theater actors, dancers, vocalists, music conductors, etc.

The newly issued list of arduous, toxic, and dangerous occupations and professions aims to update and supplement arduous, toxic, and dangerous occupations and professions that have just arisen in actual training, or jobs in the occupations and professions during the learning, practice, and internship process that are related to and affected by arduous, toxic, and dangerous factors.

The issuance of the new list creates conditions for learners and vocational training institutions to enjoy state support policies when studying and teaching arduous, toxic, and dangerous occupations and professions as prescribed by law.

Director and Meritorious Artist Bui Trung Hai said this is good news for many artists and those working in the arts. "Actors, especially film actors, often work in difficult conditions, harsh weather, terrain... Meanwhile, detailed regulations on labor safety for actors are still limited," Meritorious Artist Bui Trung Hai told Tien Phong.

However, the male director believes that there needs to be closer and more comprehensive attention from state management agencies to the field of drama and cinema acting in particular and to art forms and artists in general.

Injuries and accidents during training are inevitable in the process of learning to pursue a career in circus performance.

People's Artist Tong Toan Thang - Director of the Vietnam Circus Federation - affirmed that the newly issued circular on arduous, toxic, and dangerous occupations and professions demonstrates the state's timely attention to special occupations such as circus performance.

"I hope this is a premise to attract young talents to the circus. They will receive more attention and support during their apprenticeship, thereby ensuring a source of human resources for the Vietnam Circus Federation and performing arts troupes," said People's Artist Tong Toan Thang.

The criteria for determining which majors and occupations are arduous, toxic, and dangerous are based on the inheritance of the development and implementation of Circular No. 36/2017/TTBLDTBXH of the Minister of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs promulgating the List of arduous, toxic, and dangerous majors and occupations at intermediate and college levels and on the basis of summarizing, researching practices, and proposing from ministries, branches, and localities.

A field or profession is considered arduous, toxic, or dangerous when the time for practice or internship in the training program is related to arduous, toxic, or dangerous work, and especially arduous, toxic, or dangerous work, accounting for more than 50% of the total duration of the training program of that field or profession.
