Tuan Giao Power Company currently manages 347.96km of 35kV lines; 12.66km of 22kV lines, 380km of 0.4kV lines with 160 power industry transformer stations with a total capacity of 15,796kVA, 17 customer transformer stations with a capacity of 3,550kVA. As a district with many mountainous and steep terrains, when heavy rains last for a long time, flash floods and landslides are likely to occur. Most of the medium voltage lines run on rugged and complex mountainous terrain. Therefore, to ensure grid safety during the rainy and stormy season, since the beginning of the year, Tuan Giao Power Company has implemented many measures to inspect, renovate, repair, upgrade and consolidate the grid. Due to the large management area, electrical incidents are likely to occur during the rainy season, so the unit has increased inspection of power line corridors, cleared trees inside and outside the power line corridor that are at risk of falling onto the power line; inspected the entire power grid system, especially at vulnerable points, locations with safety risks, and equipment that does not meet operating standards, thereby promptly developing a plan and quickly handling and replacing them when electrical incidents occur.

Mr. Nguyen Dat Tuan, Director of Tuan Giao Electricity, said: “Since the beginning of the year, there have been 8 incidents on the power grid in the district, mainly caused by thunderstorms, lightning strikes, snakes crawling on the power lines... The unit has promptly mobilized forces, focused on human resources, means, tools, and materials to fix the incidents, replace and repair switching and protection equipment on power lines and transformer stations that do not meet operating standards, check and replace damaged equipment. Apply information technology to the process of checking power line parameters, transformer stations and conducting phase balancing and load switching, to prevent overloading from occurring”.

Recently, the position of pole No. 14 of the 22Kv line, Road 471 E21.1, Ban Chang, Quai To commune, this pole position has been firmly poured with concrete since the end of 2022. However, due to the pole's location in the middle of the stream, the impact of the flood in early May 2023, the entire foundation was eroded and the pole tilted. To overcome the above problem, the unit is currently temporarily fixing it by adjusting the electric pole, reinforcing the rock at the foot of the pole, waiting for a replacement or repair plan.

July is the summer vacation time for students with many fun activities, including kite flying. However, flying kites near the safety corridor of the power grid and transformer stations can cause grid insecurity as well as endanger the lives of children. Despite distributing leaflets and propaganda to the people, the phenomenon of flying kites near areas with power lines still occurs. On July 25, during a line inspection, Tuan Giao Electricity staff discovered a kite entangled in a power line at poles 13-14, 35kV line, route 373E 21.1 in Bang San village, Quai To commune. Although it was not a major incident, it took more than 30 minutes of hard work for the electricity workers to remove the kite.

Handling the risk of grid safety loss, focusing on 35kV, 22kV lines and potential pole locations with many tall trees at risk of falling on the poles... of Tuan Giao Power Company before the flood season, is extremely important; contributing to ensuring safety in the process of managing and operating the grid, providing stable electricity for people's daily life and production as well as carrying out political tasks in the area.

Although managing a large, mountainous area, Tuan Giao Power Company has been proactive in preventing and combating natural disasters and ensuring the safety of the power grid system, which is an extremely important task during the rainy and flood season. The highest goal is to ensure safety, minimize damage as well as provide regular and continuous power supply, contributing to ensuring the safety of the power grid, joining hands with the Party Committee, government and people to develop the economy , improve people's knowledge, and reduce poverty.
