Quang Trach Electricity: "Removing obstacles" to build power grid projects

DLQT is currently managing, operating, and selling electricity in Quang Trach district, Ba Don town, and Ngu Hoa commune (Tuyen Hoa), with a total of 34 communes/wards and more than 66,500 customers. In recent years, to improve the safety and reliability of providing sufficient and effective electricity to customers, DLQT has consulted and mobilized many capital sources to invest in construction, renovation, and upgrading of the power grid system in the area managed by the unit.

In 2024, the DLQT has invested in electricity projects, including: "Preventing overload and reducing power loss in Ba Don town area" - building 8.1km of new medium and low voltage lines; building new, increasing capacity and relocating 18 public transformer stations (TSAs); "Preventing overload and reducing power loss in Quang Trach district area" - building 4.8km of new medium and low voltage lines and building new, increasing capacity and relocating 15 public TSAs; "Improving the reliability of power supply in the North of Quang Binh (transitional project)" - building and renovating 1.92km of medium voltage lines and 11 switching devices in Ba Don town and Quang Trach district; "Improving the reliability of power supply in the northwest of Quang Binh" - building and renovating 8.2km of medium and low voltage lines in Ba Don town and Quang Trach district; “Renovating unsafe low-voltage power grid in Quang Binh province” - building new and renovating 2.2km of low-voltage lines in Ba Don town and Quang Trach district; “Improving the reliability of power supply of 110 kV power lines in Quang Binh province” - building 5 new 110 kV power poles in Ba Don town; “Renovating and developing medium-low voltage power grid in the central area of district capitals, towns and cities in Quang Binh province (KFW 3.2 Project)” - building new and renovating more than 36.5km of medium-voltage lines in Ba Don town and Quang Trach district.

However, in the process of implementing the investment in the above-mentioned power projects, DLQT encountered some difficulties and problems, especially related to site clearance. The reason is that in some places the construction site is complicated, the power grid mainly runs through residential areas, so the site must be handled.

“Currently, the DLQT is setting key goals, including: Ensuring stable electricity supply for socio-economic development and people's lives; actively implementing investment in power grid projects on schedule; focusing on improving production and business efficiency and labor productivity; continuing the process of unit arrangement and innovation, perfecting the organizational structure; promoting the application of science and technology and implementing digital transformation in the fields of electricity operations,” the Director of the DLQT added.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Thuan, Director of DLQT shared that in order to "remove obstacles" in site clearance work to serve the construction and execution of power projects effectively, over the past time, our unit has drawn some very practical experiences in site clearance work. Specifically, DLQT always considers supporting site clearance for power projects in the area as the responsibility and obligation of the Electricity Company. The unit also focuses on flexibly applying relationships, in each specific situation and area to achieve the goal of site clearance work; promoting propaganda for people and customers to see the benefits of putting power projects into operation early, helping the Electricity Company complete the production and business targets assigned by the company; doing a good job of skillful mass mobilization; providing maximum support to local authorities in ensuring power supply for political events, celebrations, festivals, early power restoration during annual storms and floods...

It is known that in the past time, all recommendations of electricity customers have been promptly and satisfactorily resolved by the DLQT in coordination with functional units in accordance with State regulations. In addition, other opinions of voters through contacts of the People's Council Deputies of districts and towns have been fully, accurately and promptly resolved in accordance with the functions, tasks and authority of the unit. Thanks to the good work of site clearance, up to now, all electricity investment projects in 2024 at the DLQT have basically been put into use and operated effectively.

In 2025, the DLQT continues to receive approval from superiors for the investment plan to build 3 major electrical repair projects, with a total value of nearly 6 billion VND. Currently, the DLQT is inspecting and reviewing the management grid to have a timely repair plan. In particular, the unit will focus on switching equipment, low-voltage capacitor banks, medium-low voltage grid contacts, meter boxes, meter cables, and adjusting the metering system.
