Southern Electricity puts into operation 15 more 110kV grid projects

Southern Electricity is determined to complete 50 110kV power grid projects on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Southern Liberation Day and 50 years of construction and development of EVNSPC.

Since the beginning of the year, EVNSPC has energized and put into operation 29 projects. The leaders of Southern Electricity affirmed that EVNSPC and participating units will continue to strive to complete 50 110kV power grid projects on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification and 50 years of establishment and development of EVNSPC.

High determination, maximum effort

From the beginning of 2025, EVNSPC has made a weekly plan to regularly monitor, inspect and urge the implementation of investment and construction work, especially the plan to start construction and energize 110kV power grid projects.

EVNSPC leaders said that the working atmosphere and spirit at the 110kV grid projects were always urgent, determined and made maximum efforts despite the hot weather in mid-March, high temperatures causing many difficulties for the construction forces at the projects. The units participating in the project implementation, the construction units often worked day and night, without weekends off to complete the project on schedule.

As a result, in the first 3 months of the year, many projects in the provinces of Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Ninh Thuan, Lam Dong, Ca Mau, Kien Giang, Soc Trang, etc. were continuously energized and put into operation on schedule.

Meeting the growing load demand in the Southern region

In order to improve the reliability of power supply and meet the growing demand for load in localities such as Vinh Long, Binh Phuoc, Dong Thap, etc., many projects have been invested in, urgently constructed and put into operation by EVNSPC.

Typically, the 110kV Station project of Bac Dong Phu Industrial Park (IP) and the 110kV Branch Station of Bac Dong Phu IP (Binh Phuoc Province) has a total investment of nearly 112 billion VND. Construction started in December 2024, after just over 3 months of construction, the project was successfully energized on March 30, 2025. Thereby, meeting the load demand of Dong Phu district and neighboring areas, especially the load demand of Bac Dong Phu IP.

Also in March 2025, EVNSPC energized and operated 2 110kV power grid projects in Vinh Long province; of which the project to increase the capacity of Binh Minh 110kV Transformer Station (Binh Minh town) completed phase 1 after only nearly 15 days of construction.

The project meets the increased load of Hoa Phu Industrial Park (phase 1, 2 and 3), Binh Minh Industrial Park; industrial clusters: Song Phu, Phu An (Tam Binh district), Vinh Long City industrial cluster, Tan Quoi industrial cluster (Binh Tan district), Thuan An industrial cluster (Binh Minh town) as well as the growth of load in the area.

Contractors' workers work in hot, cloudless weather to renovate and increase the load capacity of the 110kV line at the 220kV Bao Loc - Di Linh substation.

The project "Increasing the capacity of transformers T1, T2 of Phuoc Hoa 110kV transformer station" with a total investment of more than 42 billion VND, has contributed to reducing the load for transformer stations in neighboring areas; improving the reliability of grid operation according to N-1 criteria, connecting the 22kV grid of Phuoc Hoa 110kV transformer station with Binh Minh, Vung Liem, Song Hau 110kV transformer stations; meeting the demand for load growth in Long Ho district, Hoa Phu Industrial Park...

In Dong Thap, EVNSPC has completed the project "Upgrading and renovating the 110kV Hong Ngu Transformer Station", ensuring electricity for the growing load demand in Hong Ngu City, Hong Ngu District, Tan Hong District and Preyveng Province (Cambodia).

Regardless of difficulties, the construction team is trying their best to complete the projects on schedule.

Along with that, projects such as: Replacing T1 transformer at Cho Moi 110kV station (An Giang province); Renovation and capacity increase of Suoi Dop transformer station (Tay Ninh province); Phase division of 110kV Vinh Long 2 - Sa Dec transmission line (Dong Thap, Vinh Long); Renovation and capacity increase of 110kV Bao Loc - Di Linh 220kV substation (Lam Dong province); Renovation and capacity increase of T1 transformer from 25MVA to 40MVA Dam Doi 110kV transformer station (Ca Mau)... have also been completed on schedule, improving the reliability of power supply in the area.

The 15 projects energized in March 2025 are not only the efforts of EVNSPC, management, construction, consulting, testing units..., but also the close coordination and active support of the Southern Power System Control Center; authorities at all levels and people in the localities where the project passes through.
