Theatre script reading for Vietnamese children in Korea

The musical performance "My Dream" is the result of the first phase of an artistic cooperation project between two theaters of Vietnam and Korea and will be staged in 2025-2026.

The play will be performed according to professional musical standards through the stages of script translation and adaptation, music composition, and performance in Korea (performed by Korean artists) and in Vietnam (performed by artists from the Youth Theater). The play will be officially completed at the Youth Theater and premiered to the audience in 2026.

Meritorious Artist Nguyen Si Tien - Director of the Youth Theater attended the reading performance, met and exchanged with actors, experts working in the field of performing arts creation and representatives of cultural and artistic organizations, journalists, music and theater critics of Korea.

The musical "My Dream" tells the story of Linh - a poor girl born with a body that is not as healthy as her peers, which makes Linh's life a restless journey with many difficulties, deprivation and loneliness.

However, miracles always exist in adversity. Linh still keeps a small but strong flame in her heart, which is the dream of creating technology to help the disadvantaged in society and the physically disabled, who have experienced many injuries and despairs in life. Many of them, like Linh, have not chosen to give up but have accepted to overcome challenges, difficulties and even contradictions and conflicts.

Finally, Linh has fulfilled her dream, healed her soul and built a precious circle of friendship, affirming her own maturity.

“My Dream” is not only a touching story about a girl with many disadvantages in life, but also a symbol for all those who have ever felt small, weak, or unworthy to nurture their dreams and aspirations.

Linh's story shows that every dream has no starting point and does not require perfection. What matters is whether we dare to keep it alive in our hearts and have the courage to pursue it every day.

The musical contains a message full of humanity: in the modern world , where technology develops rapidly, where human values ​​are sometimes overshadowed by material things, Linh's dream is the strongest voice, reminding us of the fundamental values ​​of compassion, sharing, and belief in good things.

Reading Showcase is a form of initial rehearsal of a musical, where the actors read the script and perform the main songs without the need for a complex stage or elaborate lighting. This form of performance is very popular in the world, becoming the standard in creative activities and staging in countries with highly developed performing arts and musical industries.

At the reading in Guri City, Korean audiences experienced the meaningful message and artistic vision of the musical "Your Dream" through a simple yet profound performance.

With the actors' lively dialogue and emotional musical performances, the audience can clearly feel the soul and story of each character.

According to the plan, the Vietnamese version of the musical "My Dream" performed by artists from the Youth Theater will take place in October 2025, the official performance will be in 2026 and is expected to participate in performance activities in Korea afterwards.

After the success of the musical projects “The Goblin’s Child” and “Zorba the Cat”, the play “My Dream” continues to be a musical project for children that is being jointly produced by the Youth Theater according to the modern family musical model, with professional support from Korean experts, and is also an opportunity for young Vietnamese artists to learn and grow in a professional musical environment.

In addition to the event framework, Meritorious Artist Nguyen Si Tien participated in the signing of a memorandum of understanding to establish a tripartite cooperation relationship between the Youth Theater - SangsangMaru Theater and the Guri Cultural Foundation.

The event aims to create a platform for cooperation between the three units and organizations to contribute to the development of cultural and artistic projects, especially in the field of musicals for children, families, youth and children, creating a foundation for joint musical projects as well as international exchange initiatives between Korea and Vietnam.

The three parties have agreed to coordinate in developing and transferring technology for staging and performing musicals, from training, production to promotion, in order to create quality works that are attractive to Vietnamese audiences.

By implementing this project, the Youth Theater aims for a long-term artistic vision: developing musicals as a new language to tell emotional stories that touch the hearts of pioneering artists.
