(PLVN) - On December 12, in Ha Long City, the VCCI Legal Department coordinated with the Quang Ninh Provincial Economic Zone Management Board and Business Forum Magazine to organize the Eastern Expressway Industrial Park Forum 2024 with the theme "Linking and promoting smart manufacturing supply chains".
In his opening speech, Mr. Pham Tan Cong, Chairman of VCCI, hoped that the Forum would further encourage interest and investment from international investors and businesses in the Vietnamese market, in order to both grasp and create new opportunities in Vietnam's economic development and achieve mutually beneficial results.

The Chairman of the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry believes that businesses coming to this Forum will find suitable partners to jointly create an on-site production network as well as promote regional, multi-regional and even global smart manufacturing supply chains.
At the forum, Mr. Pham Duc An, Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People's Committee shared: Quang Ninh has proactively and promptly issued policies and guidelines to actively take advantage of scientific and technological achievements, especially the achievements of the 4th Industrial Revolution. Many high technologies, new and modern technologies have been selected by enterprises to apply in the production and business process to improve productivity, quality and competitiveness. Thereby, contributing to improving the growth quality of the province, labor productivity has been significantly increased.

Quang Ninh always accompanies and supports businesses to operate, supplement additional capacity, increase productivity and output. In recent years, investment capital in Quang Ninh province from large corporations, manufacturing high-tech products in the global supply chain has brought high export revenue and job opportunities for many local workers and neighboring areas.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province hopes that experts, scientists, and delegates attending the Forum will frankly exchange and discuss to find creative ideas and new directions in investing and developing industrial parks along the Eastern Expressway axis, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of the four localities.
Speaking at the conference, Dr. Tran Thi Hong Minh, Director of the Central Institute for Economic Management, shared: The connection of this "Creative Urban" region will effectively utilize resources, create a combined strength, and spread in the new context; create a large, dynamic development space by combining exploitation and maximizing the potential and advantages of localities on the axis, maximizing the productivity of the local supply chain.

The industrial parks along the axis will take advantage of each other, taking advantage of the important traffic connection chain with one end being the capital Hanoi and the other end being Mong Cai border gate, trading with the Chinese market. The important point is to maintain the connection between these industrial parks, avoiding the industrial parks repeating the model of "copying" each other, leading to "excessive competition" instead of "effective cooperation".
At the Forum, delegates focused on discussing solutions to promote smart manufacturing supply chains in sub-regional industrial parks. Thereby, opening up opportunities for the Eastern Expressway Industrial Parks to effectively connect with the global smart manufacturing supply chain.
The forum also discussed how to seek common development opportunities and achieve mutually beneficial results in the current international context, especially in the context of global manufacturing investment flows continuously orienting towards Vietnam as a destination to establish global supply chains.
At the same time, focus on promoting 8 areas: Linking trade and investment promotion; Linking in transportation and logistics; Linking in production supply chain; Linking in tourism and service development; Linking in improving the investment and business environment; Linking in training and supplying human resources; Linking in environmental protection; Linking in agriculture and agricultural product processing and high-tech application.
