The 2nd Mekong Delta Startup Forum 2024: Connecting resources and markets to develop startup projects

On the afternoon of September 25th, the People's Committee of Dong Thap province held a press conference to provide information about the organization of the 2nd Mekong Delta Startup Forum - 2024, with the theme "Green Economy - A New Driving Force for Development". Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Tran Tri Quang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province, said that the Mekong Delta Startup Forum, held for the first time in 2022, saw the Mekong Delta provinces commit to promoting the goals of "modern, circular, low-emission agriculture " and reducing total methane emissions by 30% by 2030 compared to 2020 levels in crop and livestock activities. This will create new momentum for economic growth and enhance the position of the Mekong Delta region in the national and global economy.

Mr. Tran Tri Quang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province, said that the second forum was organized on a larger scale and with more innovations compared to the first forum in 2022.

According to Mr. Quang, after the first forum, Dong Thap has implemented many practical activities linked to commitments, notably participating in the Sustainable Development Project of one million hectares of high-quality rice cultivation associated with green growth in the Mekong Delta. However, the common challenges of the Mekong Delta region remain significant, therefore the 2nd Mekong Delta Startup Forum is expected to contribute to promoting awareness and innovation goals, finding solutions for the specific economic orientations of the Mekong Delta region based on the efforts and effective resource cooperation of both the public and private sectors.

Furthermore, through the forum's activities, resources and markets will be connected to support the development of startup products, projects, and technology-services in Dong Thap province and the Mekong Delta. At the same time, exemplary individuals, groups, and organizations in entrepreneurship and innovation will be honored, forming a sustainable innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem based on science, technology, and digital transformation.
