Dien Bien organizes meeting to pay tribute to veterans and former youth volunteers who participated in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign

At the meeting, the delegates reviewed the glorious fighting journey of our army and people. 50 years ago, under the wise and talented leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, our army and people carried out the General Offensive and Uprising, culminating in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign in the Spring of 1975 with the spirit of determination to fight and win of the whole nation. The Ho Chi Minh Campaign won victory, completely liberating the South, reunifying the country, opening a new era - the era of independence and unity of the Vietnamese people.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee Tran Quoc Cuong emphasized that the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification is an opportunity for us to review the heroic history of the nation and look back on the journey of striving to build and develop the country.

Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee Tran Quoc Cuong presented gifts to express gratitude to former youth volunteers.

At the same time, we also deeply perceive the value and lessons learned from the practical struggles of the nation to add more will and strength in the work of building and defending the Fatherland, which is the driving force to complete the historical mission in the new era - the era of the Vietnamese people's rise.

Comrade Tran Quoc Cuong affirmed: We will forever remember the contributions of cadres, soldiers, former soldiers, former people's police officers, former youth volunteers, Vietnamese heroic mothers, heroes, martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers, soldiers and people nationwide who fought bravely and sacrificed in the resistance war against the US to save the country, creating the Great Victory of Spring 1975.

With that spirit, Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee Tran Quoc Cuong suggested that Party committees, authorities, and sectors at all levels in the province need to pay more attention to and better implement propaganda work about the sacrifices and contributions of those who have contributed to the revolution, thereby arousing patriotism, strongly promoting the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source", "When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree", and the spirit of great national unity.

Proactively and effectively implement preferential policies for people with meritorious services, constantly improve the material and spiritual life of people with meritorious services and their families.

Pay more attention to meritorious people in difficult circumstances, living alone, without support, meritorious people's families in remote areas, and ethnic minorities.

Continue to effectively implement the Campaign "All people take care of families of war invalids, martyrs and people with meritorious services to the revolution", ensuring that people with meritorious services and their families have a living standard of average or higher in the area; actively support the Gratitude Fund to help families with meritorious services to overcome difficulties and improve their lives.

Leaders of the National Assembly Delegation and leaders of the People's Committee of Dien Bien province presented gifts to express gratitude to veterans and former youth volunteers who participated in the Ho Chi Minh campaign.

On this occasion, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province presented 260 gifts to show gratitude to veterans, former people's police officers, and former youth volunteers during the anti-American resistance period, who directly participated in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign.
