Dien Bien expects a boost from National Tourism Year 2024

National Tourism Year - Dien Bien 2024 is a typical cultural - economic - social event, of national and international scale, associated with the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024). According to Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, National Tourism Year 2024 includes 169 programs and response events, of which 13 are national programs and events organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, ministries, departments and central branches; Dien Bien province organizes 28 programs, events and activities; 128 response events and activities are organized by 33 provinces and centrally run cities.

The Ban Flower Festival is held annually in Dien Bien province.

The highlight of the National Tourism Year - Dien Bien 2024 will be the Opening Ceremony, associated with the organization of the Hoa Ban Festival in 2024 with the theme "Returning to the Hoa Ban Land"; the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory; the Northwest - Dien Bien Tourism Fair, the National Food Festival in 2024; the Northwest - Dien Bien Industry and Trade Fair in 2024... With events throughout the year, Dien Bien province aims to attract 1.3 million tourists in 2024.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Phu - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dien Bien said that currently, the whole province of Dien Bien has 205 tourist accommodation establishments (2,765 rooms, with over 5,000 beds); of which Dien Bien Phu city and its vicinity have over 120 accommodation establishments (1,850 beds, with 3,400 beds). The local government said that despite difficulties and limitations in the number of accommodation establishments, Dien Bien province will make every effort to prepare the best infrastructure and services to welcome tourists; at the same time, mobilize tourism associations, businesses and people to participate in developing community tourism as well as investing and expanding the accommodation system.

The organization of the National Tourism Year - Dien Bien 2024 is expected to be a very important boost to help the socio-economy in general and tourism in Dien Bien province in particular flourish, creating conditions to attract resources for investment and development, building new and attractive products, contributing to creating momentum for socio-economic development of the province in 2024 and the following years.
