Dien Bien invests 53 billion VND to arrange residents and protect areas at risk of natural disasters

Specifically, according to Decision No. 699/QD-UBND approved by the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Bien province on April 11, the project of embankment to prevent landslides, re-route and repair the road surface of Long village and Toa Tinh village (Tuan Giao district) is implemented in Toa Tinh commune with a total length of 3km, scale of rural traffic level C (mountainous area); total investment of the project is 3 billion VND; project implementation time is in 2025.

The project, when completed, will overcome the consequences of natural disasters, prevent landslides and roadbed erosion, and ensure traffic safety on the Long and Toa Tinh routes; contribute to adapting to climate change, ensuring security, stabilizing life, and creating favorable conditions for people in the area to develop the economy.

Also in Tuan Giao district, the People's Committee of Dien Bien province decided to invest 5 billion VND to implement the project of embankment to prevent landslides, re-route and repair the road surface of Na Say-Muong Khong-Nam Ca-Pa Ca; the project implementation location is in Muong Khong commune.

In terms of scale, the project includes the following items: handling 4 traffic safety risk points on the main axis of Na Say-Muong Khong road by building concrete embankments and stone gabion embankments (length 134m) and reinforcing drainage ditches and roadside.

On the Nam Ca-Pa Ca branch, two unsafe points must be addressed by building a concrete embankment and a stone gabion embankment with a total length of 58m. The completed project will overcome the consequences of natural disasters, prevent landslides and subsidence, and improve the drainage system, ensuring safety for people and vehicles traveling on the route.

The project of embankment to protect residential areas of villages: Suoi Lu I, II, III (in Keo Lom commune, Dien Bien Dong district), approved by the Provincial People's Committee, has a total investment of 18 billion VND; implementation time in 2025.

The project, when completed, will overcome landslides caused by natural disasters to protect and stabilize the lives of 286 households with 1,327 people in Suoi Lu I, II, III villages; at the same time, contribute to increasing the ability to adapt to climate change, creating favorable conditions for local people to develop socio-economy.

In Nam Po district, the People's Committee of Dien Bien province approved the investment policy for the Project on resettlement of residents in urgent natural disaster areas in Phin Ho village, Phin Ho commune with a total investment of 17 billion VND (from the Central reserve budget, Nam Po district Relief Fund, Nam Po district budget); the project implementation period is in 2025.

Accordingly, the project scale includes the following items: leveling the ground, classroom buildings, traffic system, water supply system, domestic electricity supply system and overcoming landslides to ensure traffic at some points on the De Tinh - Phin Ho route.

The project's completion ensured the arrangement and stabilization of life for 22 households (118 people) in the urgent disaster area; promoted production development, improved the material and spiritual life of local people and contributed to maintaining stability of national defense and security...
