Take advantage of
At the end of 2023, Nguyen Van Tiep Fine Woodworking Co., Ltd. (Dong Khuong neighborhood, Dien Phuong ward) invested nearly 150 million VND to build 10 pavilions around a lake within the woodworking factory's premises, creating a space for product display and relaxation for visitors.
This idea emerged when Mr. Nguyen Van Tiep, the company's director, realized that combining production with tourism was the best way to preserve and promote the value of traditional craft villages.
"Dien Phuong is home to many traditional crafts such as Phuoc Kieu bronze casting, Le Duc Ha red pottery, and Phu Chiem Quang noodles... These are distinctive cultural features that can attract visitors to explore and experience," Mr. Tiep said.
Since the Lunar New Year, foreign tourists have occasionally sought out the workshop on their own, and several travel agencies have even promised to bring tourists there in the future.
Located not too far from Hoi An, Dien Ban plays the role of a satellite destination outside the ancient town. Over the past 10 years, the rural areas of Dien Ban have attracted a relatively large number of tourists, especially from Europe and Australia.
Taking advantage of this, several community-based tourism destinations have been established, such as Triem Tay (Dien Phuong), Cam Phu (Dien Phong), etc., with initial results that have been quite positive.

While Triem Tay village has somewhat established its brand on the Quang Nam rural tourism map, Cam Phu and the Dong Khuong craft village cluster (Dien Phuong)... are gradually becoming destinations of interest for travel companies and foreign tourists.
Mr. Le Duc Ha, owner of the Le Duc Ha Pottery Workshop, said that although it is still in the pilot phase and not yet fully developed, most visitors highly appreciate the tourism services and products here, especially experiences such as learning pottery making and the scenery.
In fact, over the years, rural tourism has always been a priority for Dien Ban district. Following the initial success of community tourism models in Triem Tay and Cam Phu villages, the project to develop tourism in Tan Binh village (Dien Trung commune) and surrounding areas has been continued since 2021.
The aim is to explore the remaining potential of the Go Noi area based on its advantages in terms of landscape, ecology, cultural and historical relics, etc.
Promoting rural tourism
In its urban development program for 2030 and 2045, Dien Ban aims to continue developing local tourism and diversifying products to serve visitors.

In particular, emphasis is placed on combining cultural tourism with ecotourism, forming and connecting tourist tours within and outside the urban area. It is easy to see that out of the 10 planned zones, half of the plans relate to tourism.
Specifically, the coastal urban area (covering over 1,225 hectares) functions as a center for marine tourism and the development of water sports activities…
The Nam Phuong urban subdivision (covering approximately 1,432 hectares) is designated to function as an urban area, ecotourism destination, resort tourism area, and commercial and service zone.
The Dien Hoa sub-area (covering over 904 hectares) is also planned for ecotourism…
The Dien Tien sub-area (covering nearly 1,118 hectares) functions not only as an industrial and residential zone but also develops services and eco-tourism along the riverbanks.
In particular, the Go Noi sub-area (covering nearly 3,619 hectares) will focus on developing eco-tourism along both banks of the Thu Bon River.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Hang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dien Ban town, analyzed that with its diverse natural landscapes and rich cultural and historical traditions, especially the system of craft villages and relatively convenient transportation connections, it has created an important foundation for rural tourism to develop.
In the near future, in addition to implementing planning work and strengthening linkages and connections with travel businesses, Dien Ban will continue to improve destinations such as Cam Phu village, Tan Binh village, and some nearby historical and revolutionary sites such as Ben Den, Hoang Dieu tomb (Dien Quang commune)...
Therefore, the aim is to fully explore the tourism potential of the Go Noi rural area, providing visitors with more experiences during their journey to discover Quang Nam tourism, especially on the heritage route connecting Hoi An ancient town and My Son historical site (Duy Xuyen).
