On January 26, the Military Cinema (under the General Department of Politics, Ministry of National Defense) announced that it had sent a document proposing to donate the Red Rain film studio to Quang Tri province after completing filming there.
Military Cinema proposes to donate 50-hectare film studio to Quang Tri province
This is the largest film studio ever built by the Army Cinema, depicting the landscape of Quang Tri Citadel in 1972, the time of the 81-day and night battle to protect the citadel.
The film has just revealed more realistic scenes of the 81 fierce days and nights at Quang Tri Citadel.
According to the representative of the Military Cinema, after submitting the proposal, the unit is still waiting for a response from the People's Committee of Quang Tri province. If the 50-hectare film studio is well utilized, it will become an attractive tourist destination or a place for young people to be educated, review the history as well as the difficulties of the soldiers during the 81 days and nights of fighting at Quang Tri Citadel.
This is the largest-scale film project ever of Army Cinema.
The Red Rain film crew finished filming in mid-January 2025 and revealed many unique and realistic scenes of the fierce battle of more than 50 years ago.
This is a project carried out by the Army Cinema to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (1945 - 2025), the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). The film is expected to be released on September 2, 2025.
